Resumen del Editor

Eighteen outstanding authors. Sixteen stories of ground warfare that never happened.

Throughout the human experience, historians have wondered “what if?”. What if Sherman had fought for the South in the US Civil War? What if Germany had fought to the end in World War I? What if World War III had actually happened?

Wonder no more, for these questions, along with many others, are answered in this audiobook.

Told by a variety of award-winning authors, like Sarah Hoyt and Kevin J. Anderson, the 2018 Dragon Award winners for alternate history, S.M. Stirling, the 2019 Dragon Award winner for alternate history, David Weber, a three-time Dragon Award winner for best military science fiction, and Brad R. Torgersen, the winner of the 2019 Dragon Award for best science fiction, Trouble in the Wind deals with ground combat that never happened in our world...but easily could have.

The third book in the exciting Phases of Mars anthology series, there is something for everyone inside!

From fighting Hannibal at the Battle of Cannae, to the early death of Napoleon, to scouting the bush in Angola, Trouble in the Wind traces a history of ground warfare that wasn’t.

From the warfare in Taylor Anderson’s The Destroyermen series to S.M. Stirling’s Black Chamber, this book has it, so come aboard and find out “what if” all of these things had changed history...just a little. You’ll be glad you did!

Very good series

I'm not always a fan of anthologies or short stories in general. Too compact, but this series is good and I liked 85+% of the stories in all 3 books. I'd agree with the reviewer that says the Boston Accent could use some work, but it didnt bother me much, perhaps it just needed to be thicker? Really enjoyed it all in all and the rest of the narration was solid as always! Would recommend, nice way to spend your gardening time.

Fitting final installment

really good stories, but i enjoyed the previous 2 more, a story or 2 seemed forced, but dont let that get in your way. good narration, would recommend. start with book 1, some stories are continuations.

The narrator needs more improvement

I enjoyed most of the stories in the audiobook. However, I repeatedly thought the narrator was cold reading the material again. If you like the idea of a book read with the stilted rhythms of Captain Kirk, you will be pleased. His character voices are perfect, but that cannot overcome the negative impact his lack of “flow” has.

Simply Garbage

I just don’t know what it was suppose to no rhyme or reason. Dribble, this was not worth my time or anyone’s time.

Disappointed After First Two...

The first two books in the series were far better than this book. The stories here are mediocre at best. The narrator has an unusual cadence and delivers annoying pauses at odd moments - sometimes in the middle of a word such as 'their". Not sure what was going on with him but it was as if he was reading the scripts without any practice and just dove right in. Examples - the word "coverall" was pronounced "coh-ver-all" as if he caught his mistake mid-word and then tried to correct it on the fly. He started a characters sentence, then noticed it was someone with a Boston accent and then added the accent in subsequent sentences. With many of my favorite science fiction authors, I had hoped for more but sadly, I wasted a credit on this book.
