Resumen del Editor

Lucretia ‘Crecy’ Holbrook has a secret, a secret she has kept for many years. Even her dearest confidant and sister, Belle, would not understand what Crecy is prepared to do, the risks she is prepared to take, to get her heart’s desire.

For Crecy is not like the other smiling débutantes; she despises poetry, thinks dancing a chore, and is quite prepared to throw something at the next fool to compare her to Aphrodite.

Far more likely to return from a country walk with a badger’s skull and some bloody, injured creature than a posy of wildflowers, Crecy is drawn to the dark, the damaged, and the unlovable. Her heart longs for one man alone, one with a wounded soul, one so dreadfully damaged that even her tender care might not be enough to save him.

Viscount Demorte is everything she dreams of. With a reputation that covers blackmail, murder and madness, cruelly handsome Lord Gabriel Greyston, Viscount Demorte, is far more dangerous than any wounded dog, and his bite just might leave Crecy ruined beyond repair.

I'M NOT OKAY.!! seriously this was incredible!

Bravo to the narrator! the depth of the emotions from all characters was absolutely astounding. What an incredible performance. Okay, okay, this book really hit on mental health disorders, from OCD, Major Depression, schizophrenia, deep psychotic disorder, and suicide. Our hero is a tormented soul, stemming from genetics and horrific childhood abuse abs trauma. both our Heroine and Hero try to find love in such adversity. My only complaint is that I believe at the end of the book the narrator should state that suicide is never the answer, and like our hero has a happy ending, suicide would have taken it away. I'd also go as far to mention that there is wonderful help available for mental disorders, and provide a website. or Call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to reach a 24-hour crisis center, text MHA to 741741, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

Finding your worth living.

I absolutely loved Crecys and Gabriel’s story. At 10 yrs old he found his mother dead from a suicide and then his father killed himself in-front of him the same day. What child would not have been traumatized. Gabriel was always misjudged. Crecy first met Gabriel when she was 12 and continuously wrote to him monthly and sent him Birthday and Christmas presents every year. When her sister Belle marries Edward she sees Gabriel again. At first he doesn’t recognize her but when it finally dawns on him he is amazed at the beauty she turned into. Crecy has always thought about Gabriel and knew he was the man she wanted to marry, so she decides to instill herself in his organized life. Such a beautifully written story with a wonderful ending. The narrator was fantastic.

5-star listen all-around. The Villain gets a second chance.

SUPERB narration, EXCELLENT writing...I still don’t know quite how the author pulled it off, but she changed a zero into a hero, and I found myself having empathy for Gabriel- the same jerk from Book 6. This author/narrator combo is a hit, and I’ll be snatching up further titles from this team.

Amazing

I can't say how amazed I was by the writing and plot of this novel. I could never imagine I would come to like Gabriel, but I actually ended up loving this "crazy" hero. I was worried when I read the previous book and Cressie was falling in love with Gabriel ( as ?I thought he was evil), but it's like the old saying "never judge a book by it's cover". His OCD is funny and sad. The author really captures this disorder and it's many quirks. I have never encountered such a change from villan into a hero, since Elizabeth Hoyt's Valentine Napier...which was really masterful and done just as well in this book. Comparisons to Elizabeth Hoyt is a great compliment, as she is one of the best.
Reading how someone so damaged and conflicted comes out of that closed world by finding love is a story of hope and sacrifice. You experience the change step-by-step, so that you become invested in the transformation and cheer for the hero to get better and find happiness. There may not be the typical HEA, but it's there in the hope you feel that it will happen.
I finished and wanted to start again. Excellent.

Tormented

I hate to say this book is entertaining, more enlightening. Ms. Leech did a very good job of making you feel the anguish of a person with OCD and the special people who help them live with the disease. The story fell into place following book 6 and by its finish the reader becomes very supportive of Gabriel.

There is steaminess, suspense and some lighter elements to make this a hard to put down read. Mr. Battley, narrates superbly.

Books 1-10

**Review's for books 1-10**
Narrator did a very good job giving life to all character's and distinguishing them.

Book 1- Very good story kept me riveted and engaged from start to finish and looking forward to more.
Book 2- Same as the first.
Book 3- Really loved this tale over the 1st and 2nd.
Book 4- So far this one is my most favorite amongst the 10 I've read. I absolutely adored Beau and Millie.
Book 5- This is where thing's start going south for me. I just loved Aubrey in the previous books but he was too young and submissive for my taste in this one. The whole story lacked EVERYTHING it's previous stories did. I also didn't like Violette.
Book 6- Was a chore and found Edward and Belle a bit boring and more wanting to know more about Clercy instead.
Book 7- Here's where I really get upset! Half or more of this book I had already read in book 6!! This is a huge pet peeve of mine when author's do this because we're not getting a FULL fresh book at all but still paying for something we've already bought!! UGH!! This story was beyond ridiculous also and I truly hated it. It left me mad and upset.  Gabriel was such a weak "hero" that I laugh at even thinking him to be considered one. He's actually the opposite of a hero. Clercy was portrayed too perfect and accepting, which I was expecting to see more, even a damn ghost or two but NADA!! Although I appreciated her blunt approach, she's just far too young and inexperienced to be so "perfect " which made this entire story just too far fetched and unbelievable.
Book 8- Again, another submissive Male which is a turn off and a female that's unremarkable. Predictable tale with nothing new.
Book 9- I enjoyed this one and hoped that the author found her lost mojo of bringing back the joy I found in the first few of the series.
Book 10- I was wrong because this was yet again a huge disappointment. I will stop here and save my money and time on finding another author.

Absolutely awful premise & characters

The female main character is mentally unstable-obsessed w a man she doesn't know because she wants to fix him (and thereby force him to rely on her). The male main character is also mentally unstable-trauma, PTSD, possible psychosis. I couldn't make it through-it made me uncomfortable in the beginning and angry as time went on. This series started out great but have gotten less and less appealing-w unappealing characters and lame plots.
