Resumen del Editor

Lady Clara Quinton is loved and admired by all. She has no enemies - excluding Mr. Stephen Grant. After an atrocious encounter with Stephen during her first season, Clara vowed to never befriend him, or any member of his family. But, when Mr. Grant saves her in Covent Garden from a relentless and lively admirer, Clara falters in her promise.

Disliking everything about the social sphere he now graces - including Lady Clara - Stephen wants nothing more than to steer clear of the indulged, and impolite woman. Her contempt for him and his family has been made known all over the town. However, after coming to her aid one night in London, the vowed enemies come to a truce.

Now, a landlord at the property adjacent to her country estate, a storm leaves him stranded at the duke's home. Uncovering Lady Clara's secrets and vulnerabilities changes the way he sees the privileged woman. Will this newfound knowledge force him to see her through different, and admiring eyes? And will Clara see there is more to Stephen than his lack of noble birth?

Heartfelt Romance

Lady Clara Quinton, a Duke's daughter, finds love in the most unlikely of places. As her once strong and formidable father suffers from a cognitive decline, Clara finds herself retreating to their country estate to avoid the judgemental eye of the "Beau Monde". Once she arrives, she finds that she has a new neighbour, Mr. Stephen Grant, once her sworn enemy and a mere Mister. Lady Clara swears she will do her duty and marry within her social sphere but as her father continues to ail and begins to forget who she is, she finds herself relying more and more on the kindness, understanding, and discretion of Mr. Grant.

This story is so heartfelt. Tamara Gill weaves a narrative that hits home to any modern reader who has lost a loved one to dementia. I was pleasantly surprised by the growth and development of both protagonists. It's not often that we see major character arcs in romance novels; usually this genre relies heavily on recognizable tropes. To Fall for a Kiss was surprisingly fresh. I'd like to see Tamara Gill write more narratives like this.

On a side note:

I keep seeing comments about mis-pronunciations on Audible romance novels. I don't find that these comments are reliable. Although I'm American, I spent a few years living in London, and I really don't hear any major mistakes in this series. Maybe I'm missing something? I have noticed that these comments often come from US listeners and I wonder if maybe the UK accents turn them off of certain sounds. Brits often don't pronounce things the way we do, they also don't always put the emphasis on the same syllable. Regardless, I haven't heard any notable mis-pronunciations in this series.
