The story developing in Chipping Cheddar is fantastic. I can’t wait to listen to the next one.

I can't get enough of this series!

Seriously, how can you not love a series where the main character's pet is a rescued hellhound and there's a pet snake that acts like a Labrador Retriever? This is a fantastic series, well-written, full of fun!

The secondary characters save this series

I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a book where the main character is almost entirely unlikable. She’s so judgmental towards her family and her holier than thou attitude is annoying. Especially considering she has to turn to the very same family that she dislikes so much and judges so harshly, for help. Eden is the only one in Eden’s life that is allowed have flaws or make mistakes. Her hypocrisy knows no bounds, and her goodie two-shoes act is getting pretty old. You would think that she would grow as a character but so far she really hasn’t. Her family is the only saving grace in all of these books and frankly the only reason I’m still listening. Their antics are silly and mischievous but no one is dying and there is no true “evil” being displayed by any of them. I have laughed my butt off at the pranks they pull on each other and especially the ones they pull on Eden. It would be really tiring being around little miss negative Nancy all the time. Her grandmother is my favorite character out of all of them!
I can’t say enough good things about the narration. Ms. Saydah does a wonderful job of differentiating all of the different character and she has a good range with them. She has a pleasant speaking voice that flows nicely and keeps the story from being boring. I will definitely be looking for other books narrated by her.
Overall, it’s actually a good story - even though everything I said above about the main character is negative. I guess I keep hoping that she will lighten up and realize what a fun, quirky family she actually has and give them a break.

Downward Dog Goes Downhill

We rejoin Eden Fury as she gains another new power, her powers continue to be far more aesthetic than actual damnation so I feel like the audience becomes far more confused as to Eden's reticence on hating her fury nature. As another reviewer mentioned this is a series where I feel the secondary characters are far outshining the main protagonist. It is interesting to see more growth and self-awareness in all the characters besides Eden Fury. Frankly this series has an incredible cast of personalities that are a delight to get to know. I was particularly interested in Eden's 'Uncle' she visits and hope he will make more appearances in future stories. The magical mystery arises in quick order and once again I feel like the audience is making connections long before Eden does, though the actual cause feels rather out of the blue. Eden and Sawyer Fox's relationship progresses beyond the unrequited pining that it has been which is nice. These stories have great humor and interplay amongst her family. As this series progresses I am really longing for Eden to become less of a stick in the mud within her family, her rigidity is losing its luster and she is beginning to come off as more adolescent child than independent woman. Highly recommend this fun and easy to listen to paranormal mystery with a lovely sarcastic streak.

Yoga anyone

Yea, we find out what new fury gift Eden acquired from the last book. All I will say is that, she owns bad hair days. The relationship between her and Chief Fox is progressing nicely. Thank the gods because I was tired of her drooling over him. Since he knows about magic and supernaturals he does work with her in identifying victims.

Her narcissistic, over sex mother is having difficulties with her sex appeal. Eden discovers that many people are acting out of character for them. Her and Neville hit the books to discover what could be the problem. The discovery is surprising, and the hint comes from an unexpected source. I enjoy the role of her family and feel they are not a danger just mischievous. She does discover a family secret and is really not happy that it was at her expense. I really would like to see them get more into stuff and see Eden do more magic. Yes, I know that doing so will cause her to acquire another fury trait but… that is the point of the story.

Always a great read and laugh

As usual it was a great book .., Well . I just wish the lead character would give herself little bit more credit .. stop being so hard on herself .. I get the authors point and what she’s leading up .. but it gets a little bit annoying with how she views herself. I still will keep on reading this series .. I love it!
