Amazing

This was brilliantly written, and narrated.
You can’t help feeling like you’re along side Frankie during the whole book - Feeling her pain, her anger, her heartbreak.
This story will stay with you long after you’re finished!

The author makes this history so real through the characters. The experiences of the characters helped me to understand what being a part of the Vietnam war would have been like. (And it’s not glamorous)

I think this might just be my favourite Kirstin Hannah book .. and I’ve read many! Coupled with Julia’s fantastic narration, this book is a masterpiece!

I learnt so much from this book, from these characters. I loved the honesty and humanity in the characters. It made realise once again that there is never just one side to a story. I feel privileged to have learnt from this book.

As a woman that has worked in several warzones, i found the author truly depicted what happens on the ground really well. I loved the way the book addresses PTSD from war and the story line is beautiful. I learnt a lot about the Vietnam War and the American experience for veterans and how society received veterans. This book is fantastic!
