Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest.
The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect.
The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window.
The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.
But soon, Nadia learns the lore around her cabin and how the townsfolk are certain it’s haunted by the ghost of the man who was murdered there 15 years before.
Riggs and Nadia are suddenly thrown into a tangled web of history, betrayal, grief, secrets, with only one thing certain.
Someone—or something—wants them off that lake.

The Woman by the Lake brought us back to Misted Pines. The same faces you know and love from the previous two books are here but so are a whole host of others. Some I love and adore while others I detest. *Cough cough Angela*
Nadia Williams had me from the start. She was a woman grieving. Getting away from the city to Misted Pines seemed like the best idea to help her process. In love with the view and the cabin she knows she made the right choice.
Until the scratching begins.
Doc Riggs has met his match in his new neighbor. He is the all-around good time guy. There for a minute but never for an hour. The moment he meets Nadia they clash but that is just the start of his troubles.
Thrown together by the towns history and a murder that happened fifteen years earlier Doc and Nadia are forced to try and make this friendship work. And it does. A little too well because before too long feelings are involved that neither one of them could have anticipated.
In KA fashion this book contains a man that never wanted to settle down and the woman who helps him see it is possible. Add in one cute kid, an adorable if not deadly dog and you have the perfect fixings to have my heart going pitter patter.
Stella Bloom and Lance Greenfield absolutely narrated the mess out of this story. Being familiar with both narrators it was so easy to fall into their narration and become captivated by the world of Kristen Ashley once again.
P.S. I want Harry to find love and maybe catch a couple of bad guys along the way. He more than deserves it after everything he has been through.
KA at her finest!
