The lisp was a nightmare

Ok. How do you read books professionally with an intermittent lisp?? I forced myself to get past that issue because the story was at least interesting. Until the end. The wrap up was just so boring I find myself not really caring at all about who did what and why.

good story and the reader was great except for pronunciations of (s). drove me crazy

pronunciation of (s) were th drove me crazy listening to it....great story overall. keep writing

Childhood is tough to navigate, especially when Adults make it more difficult.

Intriguing twists & turns that often are traced back to Childhood & Teenhood that have a way of resurfacing in Adulthood.

very satisfying book, wonderful narration. characters who are relatable and likeable. plenty of twists and turns!

I was invested in what happened to Leona and Rosie. I had a hard time at times with Saffy as she sometimes annoyed me. Poppy annoyed me as well. They were definitely imperfect MC. The only other minus was the main twist was predictable. It held my attention and was a super fast read.

K.L slater never disappoints. I’ve read all of her books. They always have a couple of good twists

Where did everyone go and why?!

I must admit…I got a little lost here and there but I picked back up quickly. Slater has a way of doing that to her readers. Written in true KL Slater fashion! Twists and turns throughout. I was not disappointed! Narration was very well done!

The narrator 🥴

Overall, decent story, and I couldn’t stop listening. A bit far fetched, but still quite enjoyable. Kept me guessing and wanting more.
The narrator…..she has this intermittent lisp that I found very obnoxious and distracting. Mostly, when a word ended in the letter “S”, she would pronounce it as a soft “th”. I know a person can’t help their speech impediment or whatever, but when your job is reading aloud, I think it should be considered.
