Modern take on the story of Mulan

While I liked the story line and the plots, it was good for the first 20 chapters or so, then I kept waiting for it to end. Some of what happened was just plain unlikely to happen, even in fiction. Mulan is a strong female character who doesn’t feel as if she has to be a man in order to serve her country. That and the character of Wolfgang carried the whole book.

Cute Girl Power Hallmark

Very cute and appropriate for all ages. A little on the sappy side but cute storyline and it was over all a cute Christian romance.

Wonderfully written

Like all of Melanie's books, this was amazing and I appreciated that Mulan, was in fact Asian since this story is based off The Ballad of Mulan. During all of her books, I always find myself loving the Dynamics between all of her characters. I quickly finished this in one sitting!!! I also love the narrator for all of Melanie's books. I am greatly anticipating her next book!!!!

Delightful book

This book was thoroughly entertaining, a creative retelling of the story of Mulan. The narrator did a great job of changing her voice for each character. I highly recommend this to anyone, whether or not they are familiar with Mulan’s tale.

loved it!

unique twist on the story of Mulan... wonderful. I do love a beautiful sorry filled with adventure and excitement all wrapped up in a lovely romance. This was a very enjoyable piece.

Challanging through some parts

This book was way to close to the movie (which is based loosely on real events) and it had mentioned an Aladdin and Rupunzel? and the love scenes were just a bit painful to listen too.

The reader was very good though! And there were unique things to the story

Can’t wait till a new series comes out! The reading is always exciting with never slow boring moments and not overly dramatic that it isn’t realistic. Jude Mason’s voice is one of my favorites.

It was well written and loved the characters. It was a very slow start but you will be rewarded if you make through the beginning!
