Acceptable

This story was pretty good, although not as good as some of the others in this series. For a good part of the time the storyline seemed to ramble around with no clear direction; at some point it finally did settle down with a main focus, that of the protagonist meeting a man online and getting swept up into the excitement and fairy tale feeling of it all, ultimately learning a few very important lessons about herself.

The story did not go where I thought it would go - (numerous times I found myself guessing at various outcomes) - and that was a good thing. In other words, the story was not predictable and, in fact, went in pretty unique and original directions. Overall, the story kept my attention and was worth the time it took to listen.

Marvelously honest and engaging story

I thoroughly enjoyed this short story. The writers honest and vulnerable approach to love transported me back in time to my "late late late twenties" where those feelings of hope and excitement were so invigorating. She has such a way with describing the world through her eyes and heart. Most of all I really enjoyed the relationship that she has with her beloved city New York!

Diverting and reasonably well written

I was perfect company while I cooked dinner and the narration was better than the average writer-performer, despite awkward pauses. New York City is the real star of this story

Single in NYC

Initially i pained the writer as being shallow and selfish but after reading her story, I realized she wasn’t ready! She’s not interested in settling in a marriage with kids. She loves her single life in NYC where she can be the “Carrie” to her group of friends!

All I’s and me’s

Narcissistic, Self absorbed NYC ‘creative’ spouts the angst of maybe falling in love with someone besides herself. Oops! Didn’t work!

We all have that place

For DoDAi NYC is the backdrop and the foreground of not just her story, but of her self. This story is about being in love with love. And wanting that something to fill that gap that may only be there by when you make yourself see it. The story transforms you to a vibrant noisy colorful city full of possibility. The One will enhance you. Not hinder you. And The One is inside us all. Great moral of staying true to yourself and to not settle. Looking forward to more stories from DoDai

Couldn't Relate

Struggled to finish this story. No depth to the main character. Too shallow even for a short story.

What I love

I love stories with surprise twists, great insights, compelling narratives, and which are fun to read. This has none of those.

I struggled to relate to Dodai. I found her shallow (ending a relationship because he doesn't know name brands or a city like you do is ridiculous; teaching each other things and learning new things together is an important part of any healthy relationship) and just didn't like her.

Her audio performance was lacking. There were so many awkward pauses within sentences that I swore there was something wrong with my download (there wasn't). Glad this was only 1 hour.

Selfish Memoir

Selfish person dragging that poor guy along for so long just to dump him for her own benefit. Why be with someone if you can’t give 50/50 to a relationship. You gotta give and take, not expect everything 100% to go your way.
