Resumen del Editor

"There is no writer quite like Dolly Alderton working today and very soon the world will know it.” (Lisa Taddeo, author of number one New York Times best seller Three Women)

“Dolly Alderton has always been a sparkling Roman candle of talent. She is funny, smart, and explosively engaged in the wonders and weirdness of the world. But what makes this memoir more than mere entertainment is the mature and sophisticated evolution that Alderton describes in these pages. It’s a beautifully told journey and a thoughtful, important book. I loved it.” (Elizabeth Gilbert, New York Times best-selling author of Eat, Pray, Love and City of Girls)

The wildly funny, occasionally heart-breaking internationally best-selling memoir about growing up, growing older, and learning to navigate friendships, jobs, loss, and love along the ride.

When it comes to the trials and triumphs of becoming an adult, journalist and former Sunday Times columnist Dolly Alderton has seen and tried it all. In her memoir, she vividly recounts falling in love, finding a job, getting drunk, getting dumped, realizing that Ivan from the corner shop might just be the only reliable man in her life, and that absolutely no one can ever compare to her best girlfriends. Everything I Know About Love is about bad dates, good friends and - above all else - realizing that you are enough.

Glittering with wit and insight, heart and humor, Dolly Alderton’s unforgettable debut weaves together personal stories, satirical observations, a series of lists, recipes, and other vignettes that will strike a chord of recognition with women of every age - making you want to pick up the phone and tell your best friends all about it. Like Bridget Jones’ Diary but all true, Everything I Know About Love is about the struggles of early adulthood in all its terrifying and hopeful uncertainty.

Mostly enjoyable

Some inconsistence - character contradicts herself. But fun parts, heartwarming relatable parts as well. Good book. Preferred her other novel more

Fantastic

This is a wonderfully light-hearted story. The narration/voiceover performance was great. Very relatable narrative for a woman in my late 20s. I LOVED the chapters “Everything I Knew About Love at XYZ age” - spot on. The ending is also adorable. Highly recommend.

I Needed to Hear this !

This book is Sex in the city meets Bridget Jones in the best way! It’s funny, it’s real, it’s everything.
I loved this book and if you’re going through a break up nows a good time to listen.

I almost quit early on

I almost quit listening early on in the story, I did not at all relate to teen or even early 20s Dolly but I stuck with it and mid/late 20s Dolly into 30s Dolly had something to say, that I needed to hear and I’m glad I stuck with it

Not for gen z

I tried so hard to like this because I am in my self-growth and female friendship centered era. (I should also mention I am a WOC.) The story was fun and captivating, but I definitely wasn’t the audience for it. She focuses a lot on her growth from adolescence to her 30s as a millennial woman navigating relationships with other people and herself. While the story was interesting, I didn’t get anything out of it. Dolly is a great writer and narrator so I will say I never got bored. I just wish it came with a warning that said: NOT FOR YOUNG BLACK WOMEN WHO HAD TO GROW UP EARLY IN LIFE

Late twenties

Chose book at random and so glad I did. It resonated with the complex feelings I’m having in my mid to late twenties.
