In New York Times best-selling author Elizabeth Boyle's fourth novel in the Rhymes with Love series, a resolute young woman goes toe-to-toe with the Beast of Mayfair
She has no desire for love....
As she arrives in Mayfair, Louisa Tempest is horrified when her incorrigible cat bolts from the carriage and dashes into a neighbor's house, where she comes face-to-face with the reclusive Viscount Wakefield. But even more dismaying than his foul temper is the disarray in which she finds his home. Convinced his demeanor would improve if his household were in order, Louisa resolves to put everything to rights.
...until she meets the viscount who lives down the lane
Much to his chagrin, Wakefield finds it impossible to keep the meddling Louisa out of his home, invading his daily life with her "improvements", and his nights with the tempting desires she sparks inside him. Wounded in the war, he's scorned society ever since his return - until Louisa opens the door to his heart and convinces him to give love a second chance.

First Thought when Finished: The Viscount Who Lived down the Lane by Elizabeth Boyle was an emotionally fun read!
Read It File It Thoughts (short review): This was my kind of historical romance: issues dealt with, spunky leading lady (with a bit of a meddlesome personality), damaged leading man (war damage), and a story that made me both laugh & tear up! Miss Tempest is going down as one of my favorite leading ladies!
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Susan Duerden / Length: 10 hrs and 34 mins
I am a fan of Susan's narration skills. She has great pacing! She can make spunky characters shine and her male voices aren't bad either. Historical romance and her voice are a great match!
Love it!

Any additional comments?
Love, love, loved Pierson and Louisa. Loved that he was so hard-hearted and she was so stubborn. Loved Lord Charlton, Amy, Tuck, Lavinia, Mrs. Perchell and Tiploft. And I really loved Bits and Bob. Great names for two sweet kids. I liked Hannibal, what a cat attitude.Great story with not too much angst, I hate when there's too much angst. Not as much heat in it, no sexual tension to speak of, (mostly Louisa's inner thought of how his kisses made her feel) just two different scenes of gratuitous sex/sexual acts. If you're not going to have sexual tension why have sex? However, I enjoyed the story so much it didn't bother me too much.
As to the narrator: I never get tired of listening to Susan Duerden. She reads with emotion and the men sound like men. That's all I can ask for.
Wonderful..
