The second book in the New York Times bestselling series by L.J. Smith.

Bloodlust is the second book in L.J. Smith’s bestselling Stefan’s Diaries series, which reveals the backstory of brothers Stefan and Damon from the The Vampire Diaries series. This paperback features cover artwork from the hit CW TV series The Vampire Diaries, starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.

Stefan and Damon Salvatore are now vampires, and must deal with the consequences of their fate. They escape their small hometown of Mystic Falls—which is overrun with vampire hunters—and travel to New Orleans. While Stefan revels in his powers, Damon continues to mourn the loss of Katherine, the beautiful vampire that turned them both. But New Orleans offers temptations—and dangers. Stefan falls in love with another human, and his will power is tested. Damon ends up captured by an evil, sadistic vampire hunter. Stefan knows that he must save his brother, but will it cost him his new love?

Full of dark shadows and surprising twists, the second book in the New York Times bestselling Stefan’s Diaries series raises the stakes for the Salvatore brothers as they face new loves, old treacheries, and unimaginable threats. Fans of L. J. Smith’s New York Times bestselling Vampire Diaries series as well as the hit television show won’t be able to put the latest Salvatore adventure down.

I really enjoyed part one of the Stefan diaries. I think because this series is more relate able than the original Vampire Diaries books (for me). This book was okay, the narrator did a wonderful job, but it felt like a stretched out chapter versus a whole book. I will be picking up the next one in the series (Due out in May), but this book is just a filler.

The details were too vague and i understand that they are from Stefan's POV, but Damon's character is not really being given a thorough look. He transformed overnight from the first book. He was this moral, strong character and then he becomes the shallow, ruthless killer without much attention as to why. [It is explained, but not to my satisfaction! I know i am a brat, but if you are a fan like i am... you might agree.]

Worth a listen, but perhaps wait for a sale or later in the year so your wait time between books 2 & 3 is shorter.

Eh... it's okay...

I liked learning the back story of the Salvatore brothers but since I'd already read the other books, I was kinda bored w this series.

Good

This second book was much better than the first one. While we meet a character who is familiar to the TV series, Lexi, everything else about the story is completely untied and unrelated to the original vampire diaries books and TV series.

The reader find out how exactly Stefan met Lexi and how she taught him to control his vampire ways. Stefan Falls in love with a human for the second time and for anyone that has read any of the books or watched the TV series, it ends in tragedy.

Stefan shows his unrelenting desire to keep his brother safe and out of harms way and we all know how that ends.

Overall, there’s nothing about the book that surprises me or makes me believe that it’s amazing. But this is after reading all the original books and watching the show so, still, a good additional side story.

Very good

The only thing I really liked about this book was the narration. collins always does a wonderful job.
as far as story goes I thought it was shallow and useless. I did not like how Stephan became a ruthless killer with no kind of ethical remorse i found it disgusting and out of character.he went from an obedient spineless boy to a random killer. i also didnt like how he just keeps falling in love with whatever pretty girl he sees and decides he wants. I thought she book lacked depth and just seemed like a pointless filler story with no real purpose overall. I found myself scoffing and rolling my eyes through the whole thing, irritated with the story and especially the main character.
