Narrated by Genevieve Gaunt. A Londoner born and bred, she started her acting career playing Pansy Parkinson in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban before going on to read English at Cambridge where she graduated with a Double First. Recent work includes playing Marilyn Monroe in The Marilyn Conspiracy on stage and narrating The Spy Who Loved Me by Ian Fleming. Alongside acting on stage, screen, audiobooks and radio Genevieve writes for audiodrama (Thunderbirds), reviews books for The Spectator and interviews authors and creatives for literary festivals and in print for A Rabbit’s Foot magazine.

Directed by Tamsin Collison, an award-winning audio director with over 500 audiobooks and dramas to her credit, collaborating with artists from David Tennant to Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Recent highlights include a dramatisation of Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park, Thandiwe Newton's award-winning recording of Tolstoy’s War & Peace, and a new set of all-star readings of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels. She also lectures at leading UK drama academies, including RADA and LAMDA. Beautiful reading of a beautiful story!

I loved listening to the voices for all the lovely characters! This is a fantastic book with almost perfect voices! Loved listening to this lovely book.

My favorite book series, possibly ever!

I love this book series. I was so excited when Beth said they were coming out with an audiobook because, as a busy mom, I don’t really get a lot of opportunities to sit down and read. I wouldn’t say that the narrator has the voice I imagined, but by book two I was perfectly content with it. I did speed it up to 1.2x speed. One part I think played out even better in narration than the book was her rendition of the reprobates cheering and moaning along to Hawkes sermon. I laughed out loud. I absolutely love it!

Perfection!

These are my absolute favorite series and to listen to it on audio is the cherry on the top. Well done!!

Absolutely Charming

This is such a charming book and the performance is fabulous—the voices are so great. I particularly love the way the reader voices Arabella and the notes in the wall. Oh, and aunt Eugenia. So clever. I can’t wait for Vol. 3 !!!

My favorite series ever now on audio

I have been on the Emma M Lion bandwagon for two years now and the audiobooks have not disappointed. The first two volumes really set the stage for the series and the true magic starts to happen in volume 3. Very excited to continue reliving the story with each audio book release this fall.

I can finally get my housework done!

Ah. What can I say? I have been so excited for the audiobook release of my new favorite series. I dare say my family is excited as well. I was getting nothing done around the house and neglecting them all while disappearing into St Cristian’s for hours at a time! It’s just way more important to wonder about where Hawkes disappears to or what the next note-through-the-wall will say or what is irritating Archibald Flat today or what ridiculous situation Emma will land herself in next or what offensive opinion Aunt Eugenia has about all these subjects than it ever is to do the dishes and fold the laundry. But now I can do both with Emma in my ear.

I loved the narrator’s take on Agnes, Aunt Eugenia, and Arabella and found myself saying “Emm-ah” just like Arabella does because it’s so fun, haha! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this audiobook!

Delightful Story

I absolutely love Beth’s coruscating wit. Emma is a wonderfully full character with whom I feel I have a deep friendship. These books are among my favorites of all time.
