Thrown into prison and fearing for both his personal future and his writing career, Anthony is the prime suspect in Throsby’s murder and when a second theatre critic is found to have died in mysterious circumstances, the net closes in. Ever more desperate, he realizes that only one man can help him.

But will Hawthorne take the call?

I just love all of Horowitz’s books but really love this series. Great read or listen!!!

I can’t wait for the next book… I have devoured these books, so unique in the way they’re written… engaging my mind and giving me a strong desire to beat Hawthorne… haha!

Another winner!

This duo just gets better and better. My husband and I listened to the whole book on our drive to and from my parents house for Thanksgiving. Though the drive was long we couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

A Good Read

This is an enjoyable book. So let me focus only on the negative.
The character of Anthony Horowitz, throughout this series, is far and away the weakest character. His poor insight and bad judgment make it hard for me to believe anyone would behave in this way, including the author.
I see no reason for this behavior as it doesn't seem to aid in the plot. The character is this way only because the author wants it.
And that bothers me.

Odd story but good in series

Still slightly confused. Is this really based on the writers real life? Or no? Either way I like this series. I felt like this one was a tad shorter than the last ones and a bit odd in the story telling but overall enjoyable

Another engaging whodunnit in the series.

I enjoy the banter between Hawthorn and Anthony. It makes me laugh. Mr. Kinnear really does a great job of expressing Anthony's frustration and surprise with Hawthorn. Hawthorn loves getting under Anthony's skin and he is so deadpan about it. Look forward to the next in series.

Another Enjoyable Adventure with Tony and Hawthorne

I look forward to each Anthony Horowitz novel with anticipation of a well plotted yarn of detection, rousing exchanges between Tony and Hawthorne, humor, and insightful peeks into the world of a writer! The reader was a pleasure to listen to- he nails the personalities of the characters.

I wasn't too sure at first ..

But I ended up loving the book. It was the mind vacation I needed. Great fun!
