Emotional

Hard to wrap my mind around this one. So many conflicting emotions
during the entire story. It gets better as it goes along. Being happy and sad about the ending. Just kind of shocked at how it ended. I don’t know how I wanted it to end exactly but it goes back to conflicting emotions again...

Good story but

If you are looking for a romantic Stockholm syndrome book, this is not it. More of a thriller than romance.
The story definitely kept my interest but wasn't exactly what I was expecting.

Issues with the audio editing

This was not at all what I expected. Or wanted.
What I wanted was a Stockholm syndrome romance. What I got was just Stockholm Syndrome, not a romance. This is more thriller, which could be an okay thing, but I didn't find it that exciting. I never got that tingle at the base of my spine that had me on the edge of my seat. There were too many points of view, and I felt like not all of them were even needed. If you are going to have that many narrators, at least make them necessary to the story. And the back and forth time jumps didn't help the flow either. But as far as thrillers go, it was an okay read.

I tried to do the story by my Audible audiobook, but the chapters were out of order and skipping sections and going back to scenes already done. I finally had to use Whispersync and listen via the ebook, just to be able to understand the story. If I were someone who did returns, this is one that I would do, not just because I didn't enjoy the story, but because there seems to be something wrong with the audio editing.

Never considered Stockholm Syndrome romantic...

Frankly I’m considering returning this audio book. The only reason I finished it is because I had to know whether or not “The Tutor” was taught a harsh lesson in the end. I’ll just say that the violence, abuse and subsequent mind control suffered by the main character was far too much for me to understand how it could be romanticized— even by someone as young as her. This is also the first time that the narrator actually took away from the story for me. I had a difficult time separating some of the female characters, there were obvious stumbles and pauses- just one more reason for a refund.

This book gave me Stockholm syndrome

This book. I think I have Stockholm Syndrome just from reading it. I feel like K Larsen should be offering a support group and therapy for her readers. No, really.

The Tutor is written in the POV's of all those who are part of the story. From Holden, the abductor and psycho to Lotte, the little girl who was caught up in all of the mess... everyone gets their POV chapters. I thought at first that it would be distracting but it really wasn't. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing what was going on with all these key characters in this twisted, mixed up story.

I really respect an author that writes something so in depth and something so clearly researched. The writing was on point and the characters, plot and scene were so intricately described. My mind was able to, so vividly, picture the cabin and the mountain and the town and the house and everything. The characters were resolute in their descriptions, their choices were all so uniquely defined to what the author had plotted out. Not only was it a well written book but it was so engrossing.

Loved!!

This audiobook is fantastic. You definitely need to be able to concentrate while listening because there are so many different characters and facets that wrap you in this world of the tutor and the man holding her captive that the newspapers have deemed the tutor. It is a psychological twisted romance that has so many lefts and rights that it kept me glued to my earphones. The character development was outstanding. The narrators did a fantastic job of selling the content and the emotion. I love love loved this Audio.

Absolutely Crazy

The Tutor is a one crazy story that will have you needing therapy afterwards. I really loved the story being told in both present and past as Nora both is held captive and after her escape. The things Nora went through and her mental state were so heartbreaking to read. I was shocked at all she went through and how she had to mentally cope at the same time. Even after she escaped you could tell that she still suffered from Stockholm Syndrome despite the fact that she was finally away from him. But regardless this was an excellent told story. It will definitely give you the creeps, make you sick, and if you're not up for this type of novel, make you sick to the stomach. The narration was well done and I think she did a good job voicing Nora. I was intrigued from beginning to end. Excellent novel.
