Kept guessing till the end

I love Ann Granger mysteries ,they never disappoint,I have one more Inspector Ross to read and am hoping she keeps the series going ,I love these books. Narration was excellent as usual

In-depth character development!

I like the slow yet steady build up to the murderers’ reveal. Very well done!

Whispering narrator

This is a good series, and the mysteries are complex and well formed. This wasn’t my favorite, but it was still good. Now, for the bad part. I’m actually mad at the female narrator. Audio books are expensive. And narrators, producers, sound-booth engineers, whomever, should know that we actually need to be able to hear what’s being read. But the female narrator whispered through a substantial portion of her chapters. She was a bit louder in dialog, and she was super loud for some of the other voices. But if I increased the volume for her first-person story narrative, I got an ear splitting jolt when a lower-class person or a brash person spoke. So….up down, up down, up down throughout the whole book. I couldn’t just turn it on and go about other tasks because of this frustrating actress/studio problem. Yes, she was good at tone and mood, etc., but please, do not whisper audiobooks!
