Putting the Pieces Together

Where does The Truth Is the Light rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed it. To me you have to read the previous books in the series to get this book.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the way it put the pieces together.

Which character – as performed by Shari Peele – was your favorite?

I like Gabriel's auntie because she was so over the top and so inconsiderate. It really showed how some people do not understand boundaries.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not this book. It took me almost a week to finish. It had too many parts to it that had to register.

Any additional comments?

I found myself pausing the booking and actually making a family tree to make the connections. When they explain how everything is connected it was like information overload.

Awesome!

I really enjoyed the series. it really connects with just life in general and the fact that I can put my hands on my Bible and go to the scripture and God releases a new revelation this is really awesome vanessa has done an awesome job keep up the good work.

I love this book series.

I love hearing God's truths through these books.
Way to go Vanessa in your gift to share scripture through all circumstances.

A Really Great Book

This is a really great book. The storylines are beautifully and brilliantly written, exceptionally detailed and very interesting, and the characters were thoroughly and masterfully crafted.

The storylines could easily have been that of any African American person, that was born during the time frame of the character Gramps.

This brilliant Author, really gave us wonderful insights to each character, from the most prominent, to the ones that could seem to only be considered as nothing but ancillary characters, but, in fact, brings something to tie different things, scenarios, situation, and characters along with the storylines together.

Loved it!!! This is a wonderful story of family and faith. it makes you feel a gambit of emotions from anger to sheer joy!!!!

I love reading about the goodness of God!! He continues to show up and out!! I love this writer and how testimony of how your life can and will change when you trust God … and even though you will have trials and tribulations… God is forever faithful!!!

misleading and not what I expected..

What disappointed you about The Truth Is the Light?

This book was peppered way too much with quotes from the bible, and it was too preachy for my taste, though I love reading the bible this book is not what I expected. The description of this book was very misleading and I feel that the author did a poor job of giving a reasonable picture of what the story was about. Though the story and the characters were believable the preaching and other aspects of the book was just too
over the top for me making it impossible to really enjoy it. It was a wasted credit for me..

Would you be willing to try another book from Vanessa Davis Griggs? Why or why not?

Absolutely Not! I see the direction this author is going with her books and I'm not feeling
her style of writing, so no I will not be purchasing anything else from her..

Did Shari Peele do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

To be quite honest I got this book because Shari Peele was the narrator. I also gave it the stars that I did because of her. I love her reading and have purchased other books that she has narrated and I thought she did a good job on this one, its just too bad the author went overboard with the religious content. There is nothing wrong with adding this type of content to your story, I just feel that it was overkill and she simply got too carried away with it. That's just my take on it..

None! they all seemed to work in unison with each other.
