Resumen del Editor

Princess Celeste is bored to tears, and her brothers, Prince Jude and Prince Torrin, aren't doing much better.

In a palace where all they have to look forward to are endless games of croquet and barley-water soup for supper, they don't have much by way of excitement. Until the one night Torrin sees a light in a forgotten tower of the palace, and they meet a wonderful and mysterious aunt who unlocks a brand-new world of adventure they will never forget.

Fun little story

Tree Royal Children and Batty Aunt, is a fun little children story. I liked it and think young children will like it as well.

4/5

Summary:
Three royal children (Celeste, Jude, and Torrin) meet their eccentric (great??) Aunt Maggie. She’s an inventor who takes them on an adventure.

Additional Comments:
• Aunt Maggie might be my favorite character.
• Side note: Not sure if it was a narrator choice but Celeste was pronounced rather oddly.
• The narrator did an okay job with the story. I had it going at 2x speed, so the slow factor didn’t really bother me.
• Totally kid-safe story. The solution to the problem was rather heartwarming, but the reason for the conflict could have been stronger.
• Maggie’s cool creations are fun to learn about.
• I question some of the parenting skills of the king and queen, but that’s neither here nor there.
• Probably the opening for a longer series featuring the MCs.

Conclusion:
If you enjoy children’s fantasy stories featuring princes and princesses, check this one out.

Storytime with Grandma

This is a sweet story about three Royal children who discover their batty aunt living in the Castle tower. It's not as disturbing as it sounds. She's not crazy, she just has a talking bat. This book is totally safe for children I promise. The children go on an adventure with their aunt and, we'll it's a short book, I best not spoil it.

It reminded me of classics from when I was younger, such as The Five Children and It. It's whimsical and thought provoking. Bit not magical, Aunt Maggy is very clear that she doesn't have magic.

I knew going in that this was a children's book. I just didn't realize how much the audiobook would be produced for children. Which makes sense, and it worked perfectly for this story.

Rather than a grand production, Lisa Hicks simply reads the story. She does use her voice to distinguish characters but never so much that you can't tell it's her.

The effect is very much like having your grandmother, or your batty aunt, sit down with you in a large overstuffed armchair and read to you.

great story; sub-par narration

This was a fun adventure for a trio of royal children stuck in a boring life... or so they think. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it for children - I think I would have loved it when I was into Half Magic and similar books.

The audiobook narration was sub-par; the narrator spoke far too slowly and Enunciated. Everything. Far. Too. Much. It was a bit painful to listen to at first. She also used very odd voices for some of the children, and southern accents for some of the Eep adults, which felt jarring in a fantasy story.

Story of cooperation and acceptance

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. I will definitely let my 5 year old listen to it.
This book has a thread of fantasy, but is also a great story to teach lessons of cooperation, tolerance of differences, and respect for others. The royal children do not behave poorly, or argue.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Lisa Hicks) and I would listen to another. She narrates with expression that would be engaging for kids without going over the top. She has different voices for the characters that are discernible.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Oh What A Wonderful Adventure!

A charming and wonderful adventure that both children and adults will treasure. I was a little uncertain of the choice of narrator at the beginning but shortly realized she was the perfect choice indeed. I am looking forward to the future adventures of the three total children and their batty aunt. This could turn into a wonderful series, and I hope it does!

Fun Elementary Age Read

I had help reviewing this book... my 13, 11, and 9 year old kids read this one with me. They all thought is was a cute and fun short story. We agreed that the narrator did a great job with this book. It is geared toward the younger readers but I do believe that my 13 year old enjoyed it more then he would like to admit. It a great clean read for elementary age kids.
