Nice Overview ...

... of the songwriting industry. Covers all the aspects you need to consider and excel in to find success. I was looking for more info on the songwriting aspect, the creative process, a peak into how others write their songs. As with the other aspects of the industry, this was only touched on. Recommended for anyone trying to get a understand of the industry and its various pieces.

I really enjoyed this audible book. Judy is a wealth of knowledge and it’s wonderful to have her share so many great insights and tips. ≈ Beneficial sharing from someone who has a history in the biz!!

I also look forward do delving into some of Judy’s “must read”s!

I don't get it

I am going to have to give this a second listen, because I just completed this audiobook and I am completely baffled how anyone would find this to contain helpful information as a songwriter starting out in the industry. I mean I bookmarked one small section about halfway through and that was it. To me this book was more of a loose biography with some general pieces of advice which weren't even that industry specific. That was it. The author certainly didn't try to educate the reader in any of the many areas a songwriter encounters in this industry. I'm trying to think of what audience this book would be good for and I don't know. I honestly can't think of who would benefit, the only recommendation I would give this book to would be those who are looking to work with the author, a songwriter – publisher relationship with her publishing company. And obviously that's not very many people. Don't waste your time/money on this, highly disappointed.

One giant vague Instagram post

There's not a single piece of information in this book you won't find in some vague inspirational Instagram post. Very dry, lots of wasted time.

Any info actually relating to the music industry is the most basic of sorts, painfully obvious, and excruciatingly long winded

Trite. Obvious. Banal. Annoying narration. Just absolutely the worst book I’ve bought on audio. Save your credit! Avoid!
