Audiobook 9 in the Dawn of Fire Series

The first phase of the Indomitus Crusade is drawing to a close. Vast swathes of Imperium Sanctus are back under tentative Imperial control. Still the primarch Roboute Guilliman faces wars on every front. His desire to cross the Great Rift to save Imperium Nihilus remains strong, even as news of renewed assaults on Ultramar draw his attention home.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
The Dawn of Fire series reaches its epic conclusion! How will Roboute Guilliman deal with an ancient xenos threat? Was the Indomitus Crusade doomed from the very start, and can an already split Imperium survive?

THE STORY
The Avenging Son must delay his return home and head to the galactic south, taking a large part of the crusade with him, for the menace of the necrons is gathering strength. Battlefleet Kallides, despatched into the dangerous null space of the Pariah Nexus some years before, is feared lost. A greater unity is being forged between the necron dynasties, and with it come whispers of a power from the ancient past returned to rule them all… Whispers of the Silent King.

Another outstanding entry in this series. Enjoyed so much I’m going to start it over again. Well done !

Great narrative!

this was a great book, closed all the loose ends from the dawn of fire series but the very end I took issue with. it felt weird hearing it tied into the start of the dark imperium series after what a couple years since those book released? it felt kinda unnecessary but they worked it in there decently.

great ending, but sloppy start to dark imperium

Good because its story and lore driven with an appropriate but not too overwhelming focus on action and combat. Ends up being a nice prequel to the Dark Imperium and Belisarius Caul storyline. I didn't realize it was a look back to the beginning of the new lore but it works really well. Also a great example of why Guy Haley is one of the best.

great insight into Guliman and his companions. important updates to current lore.

Relatively well written (unlike some of GW’s other offerings of late) and some fun twists towards the end. Worth listening to.

A decent end to this part of the series

Very good. Great r chance between silent king and Guilliman. It feels like there is. Lots of development on guilliman as well.

Good dialogue and good development of Roboute Guilliman

Just slam this series. I’m a Blue Boy fanboy, but even so damn this was great.

The building of characters, the satisfactory open ended storylines leaving characters open for later expansion. It’s amazing

like the way all the major players are shown and power is displayed. amazing story and the Necrons got shown for the power they are.

Phenomenal book

Now that I’ve seen the final payoff I really can’t recommend the series. The characters met along several books weren’t here. The scholars theme is lost and forgotten. But this book is OK as a standalone…

The only book worth reading in the whole series I guess

It's a good book delving into necrons and their Pariah Nexus, they seem to be a proper danger for Imperium. My only problem is that this book is less of an ending to Dawn of Fire than Hand of Abaddon was. This feels more of a separate book and biggest connector to the series are Messinius and titular ship. I'd call this an epilogue.
Worth listening to.

Good book
