Heartbreak 🔥💔

I did not pay too much attention to the title, so when the “Ruin” part came into play, I was not prepared 😭.

There I was, crying my eyes out for the last two hours of the audiobook at 2 a.m., sobbing nonstop until the very end. I did not expect Sylvan to literally lose everything just moments after finally getting it. He was on top of the world, happy, recently married to Hawk, and finally in control of Hawk’s powerful shadow, and then everything started to crumble.

His relationship with Hawk faced hurdles hours after the wedding, Hawk basically sacrificed himself to save him, and then Sylvan had to make sacrifices to save Hawk too. Even though they achieve a beautiful HEA, I still feel Sylvan’s punishment and losses didn’t fully match the transgressions he made.

I loved Hawk from the moment he appeared. His obsession and absolute interest in Sylvan from the first glance? The best! He’s protective, moody, willing to do whatever it takes to ensure Sylvan’s wellbeing and happiness. And Sylvan, with all his flaws and insecurities, is determined to improve his life on his own terms, and even though he needs Hawk to reach his goals, he never feels selfish in his pursuit.

This is dark, messy, fiery, and utterly addictive. Shadow magic, monsters, illicit pacts, and obsessive love collide in a way that left me stunned and emotionally wrung out.

I love the Thelma and Louise aspect with the romantic bits

I think this was way better than the first book. story wise it was cohesive. it made sense. I loved the on the run parts. When I first learned that Luke and Kai wasn't featured. I got a little disappointed cuz I did not read the synopsis. I just bought the second book

But I say after learning the characters seeing the direction I was hooked the sex things was a bit over the top for me this time and some of them was just too random. it didn't even make sense I just wanted them to pick up on the story. most of the time I do feel like the word cum was used way too much. if I have a dollar for as many times cum was used I will be rich lol .... I do feel like the sex scenes in this book wasn't as good as the last one but I didn't care about them. I fast forwarded the later half of them just to get to the story because it was so good and I was just on edge page to page... I am disappointed cuz I won't lie. I thought since his shadow was gone he would be able to access the sunlight powers but that could be a future idea. now I am waiting for the third book which hopefully features Tristan getting his dark companion

I love this series!

I just knew I would like this one after reading the first book, now I want a third one, give me more!!

Captivating yet disappointing

Very intriguing and original, but then I would get lost because the plot suddenly sped by, and I didn't know what had happened. It then gets bogged down with too much purple prose and stalls, repeating the cycle, resulting in a disappointing ending. I was initially enthusiastic, but a quarter of the way in, I became disappointed with the plot. Foreplay was excellent, but the actual sex was very close to premature ejaculation. In my imagination, I couldn't justify the outcome of several plot lines. Both narrators are excellent, but I prefer Hartley's deep voice and reading skills.

Amazing Series!!

The narrator is in this book are absolutely perfect! I wasn’t sure how she was gonna top the first book, but she has done it! This is my new favorite series.
