Acerca de esta escucha

As book two of The Wilderking Trilogy opens, Aidan is living in the court of King Darrow. He has become best friends with Darrow's son Steren, and he enjoys great favor among the courtiers. But King Darrow's suspicion is growing, and his insecurity causes him to hate the young man who saved his kingdom. Concerned about his king's spiral into ever-darker moods, Aidan asks what he can do to help. Darrow sends him on an impossible adventure to the recesses of Feechiefen Swamp, thinking he is sending Aidan to his death. After all, no Corenwalder has ever returned from Feechiefen alive. But Aidan's fate is not sealed yet, for Aidan has allies among the feechiefolk who know him as the hero, Pantherbane.

What an excellent writer! Details of swamps, family love, vernacular of gator hunters and feechies alike are wild with richness, humor and beauty. So so much depth to this story, yet told with such vividness and wildness!!! Yes!!!

I loved this book. Me and my brothers love to play Feches and someday dream of naming and playing on property named after places in the book. It is well written and the voices for the characters sound good they are all different this is one of my favorite books. Also we even have feche names.

Jonathan Rogers' rehash/convolution-from King David's tale continues to thrill and elicit pathos for his characters. He owns the art of story-telling without resorting to illicit props like foul language or lewd or grotesque descriptives. OK, there is just enough munching on swamp critters to keep a boy flipping pages looking for the next gem. But all with great concern for God, family, virtue, and stewardship of this amazing planet granted to us for this life. May blessings abound for writer and reader and listener alike.

Another outta-the-park hit!

I liked the Bark of the Bog Owl, and I do like this sequel. However this one seemed shorter, although it’s only about 20 minutes less on audio. That may just means it flows faster, but I also found it a bit predictable. Lastly, it didn’t bring up the One True God as much, which I found disappointing.

Seemed a little shorter, bit more preferable
