...dynamic characters, who had fantastic chemistry

An entertaining medieval romance. Lady Clara / Alfred has been running and hiding for six years. Now assigned as squire to Alex, he awakens feelings in her that could betray her secret. Alex soon sees through her disguise, now he is determined to learn all her secrets. Passions flares, while danger looms. Clara and Alex were both strong, dynamic characters, who had fantastic chemistry together. This was a very good addition to the series.

Amazingly Sexy!!!

It is so amazingly sexy listening to the Scottish sound while they read to you. This book is amazing and well written. I love Alex. He is so easy going and with a quick smile. but he does have a serious side too. Also who wouldn't want a sexy man chasing after you. Listening to this story pulls you in and doesn't let you go until the very last word.

A great story of a Scot and a Lady!

A great story filled with suspense, drama, mystery and passion as these two come to grips with their passions and desires between the Scot and the English Lady. Tim Campbell is excellent, he knows just the right way to narrate a story and keep you listening!!!

Alex must eat his words

Another 5 Star book by Cecelia Mecca in the Border Lords Series. In addition to Tim Campbell's 5 Star performance as narrator, this audio book will keep you glued to your chair. Excellent characters with unpredictable dialogue exchanges. Wonderful medieval romance and a great story to work our listening to. 😀

Tim Campbell finally!

I don't know if the stories are better or just a better narration. I nearly didn't finish the first novella and almost didn't go. Glad I did wade through the first few to finally get to a Tim Campbell narration. I liked this story and found Alex a wonderful character. I will continue on with the series since we now have Tim Campbell reading.

The Scot's Secret

I loved Scottish historical romances. This narrator made it come alive with his Scottish brough. I love to get that delect. It is a very relaxing sound. Miss Mecca knows how to spin a Scottish yarn to draw in you in and keep you there. I hope to be just as good a writer as one day. 😊

Hot Scott

Recently new to me author that I am truly enjoying as of late. I loved Clara and Alex's characters-strong, honest, and with integrity. I liked that Alex kept searching for Clara and wanted her from the start. It made my heart swell. I liked the ruse of being a boy to hide in plain sight. Genius! Alex- thst dirty dog followed Clara to her bathing spot! He cheated!! Heartwarming and uplifting. A reunion with an old friend was icing on the cake. I enjoyed the narrator's voice, expressions, and accents and they added to my enjoyment of this story.

A Wonderful Scottish-British Romance

What a great story! I loved the chemistry between Cara and Alex and how their relationship blossomed as time passed in the story. Secrets were held and shared at appropriate times and their interplay with the other characters was perfect. The storyline flowed well and I was so excited to hear what happened next that I listened to the entire book in one day.

The performance was wonderful, adding excitement and enthusiasm to the story. The accents were delightful and the narrator did a terrific job of differentiating between characters.

Excellent story and narration

Alex Kerr isn’t really interested in training the young squire his elder brother presents him with, but that changes when he realizes that Alfred is in fact a lovely Englishwoman in hiding. Clara has secrets and Alex is determined to learn what they are, so he takes her with him on a trip over the border into England.

The attraction smolders between them but the closer Alex gets to learning the truth, the more uncomfortable Clara becomes. She has spent six years in hiding and divulging her secrets is not easily done. She undeniably has feelings for Alex beyond those of squire and knight but discarding her disguise for good would jeopardize them both and Clara is certain her secrets will eliminate any chance of her sharing a future with Alex.

This was a fun trip to the English/Scottish border and Tim Campbell’s narration made me feel like I was right there in the story. I loved Alex as a hero because of the way he set his sights on Clara, realized his feelings, and acted on them despite his fears of her possibly leaving him. He showed himself to be capable of reevaluating and changing his beliefs when faced with new information and that growth made him so likable. Clara was less capable of change and her insistence on living in fear even when other opportunities presented themselves did get a bit old, especially when she hurt Alex. But she was ultimately trying to protect him, and I liked these two as a couple. I enjoyed the fact that the conflict in this story was character-driven, rather than the stress of a battle or some such outside issue, which is the complete opposite of how I usually feel but there it is. I’m enjoying filling in my gaps in this series and will continue.

loved it!

I loved this book. I was listening to it in the car to and from work and almost wished I lived further away so I could listen longer. You will love Clara and Alex's story a faith love and trust. I can't wait to read book one as I started out of order and will keep reading the entire series!
