I liked the Goblin PoV

I liked the Goblin PoV, made everything more interesting. Would have 5 starred it excrpt the unnatural shortness of the book made it so nothing seemed to have as much time and development as it needed. But lots of little things kept it interesting. Characters were a bit canned but could be worse.

A decent book

I liked it, however the story wasn't what a real did game would be but it was good anyway.

Ok overall

The story was good. The author brought to life the goblins instead of them being faceless monsters. I did not like the narrator's tone of speaking which sounded like he was reading to grade school children.

best option for rpg fans

it may not be comparable to LotR or anything like it, but it is a great book for fantasy fans. Being one, I liked it very much and I recommend it.

Solid D&D Adventure in the Classic TSR Mode

The story is basic, but the adventure sterling as the editorial team capably translates the ideals of a D&D adventure from a module to the printed page with characters afforded some depth and a subterranean mystery. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Decent D&D story but awkward narration

I really enjoyed it but the narrator sounds like he is reading to small children.

The Savage Caves

A very classic D&D tale of Adventure somewhat muddled by shifting accents from the narrator. It doesn't necessarily take away from the experience, I still found the short novel very enjoyable and would listen to it again. But I definitely think that it is a product of its time and the writing, despite being from the early 2000s, does feel a little dated - especially the strange romantic interests of one of the characters for another character while trying to survive in a very dangerous situation.

I don't really feel very sexy when I'm fighting for my life, but perhaps that's just my own personal experience.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a good D&D romp with classic elements and decent characterization.
