Resumen del Editor

Presenting. If that one word made your blood run cold and hands sweat, then this book is for you.

Presenting has to be one of the most nerve-racking things that we have to deal with in life. The thought of having everyone’s eyes on us as we stand before them, bare and ready to be judged, is something that most people fear. Your hands become clammy and your heart rate picks up. You wonder how you will ever make it through. Will they like what you have to say? What will they think when you take the stage? All these things bounce around in your head as you prepare for the big day.

But do you want to know a secret?

Even the most confident and experienced speakers get the jitters. Yes! You are not alone in this. It is a normal feeling.

While it may seem terrifying and stressful to step in front of a room full of people, by listening to this book, you will find that there are many ways in which you can relieve that stress and become confident in yourself. You will learn how to take a room by storm and keep the audience engaged, hanging on to your every word until the very end. You will understand the ins and outs of making a successful and interesting presentation that impresses and sticks with others even after you have long finished your presentation.

Are you ready to take the stage by storm? Are you ready for others to hear what you have to say? Then look no further than The Presenter’s Dilemma. Gain the know-how and confidence you need to not only blow the audience out of the water with your presentations, but to share your message, your wisdom, and your story with those who are just as passionate as you.

Refreshing Listening To This Book!

"I loved the author's straight forward, thorough approach to the subject matter. For anyone who is new to public speaking, this book is the holy grail. You will walk away feeling confident and fully prepared to present anything!

And, for the seasoned presenter, it is a great refresher course. This was an easy, excellent read all the way through, and I highly recommend it to anyone new to public speaking or who just wants some great reminders."

Less is More

The audio book contains valuable tips, preparation tactics, best practices and what to be aware of when engaged in public speaking. The author’s subject writing obviously demonstrates that he has a lot of practical experience in this field. Additionally, the author also practices what he preaches, in that this short book delivers key points and avoids a lot of superfluous information. His writing mirrors his advice in that “less is more” in presenting the pertinent ideas. Must listen for anyone who is preparing to formally disseminate information to a group.

a little something for every presentor

This was a well written, easy to read book that was written and backed by recent research. The author offered a solid foundation early on about the physiological breakdown of what happens as a presenter is getting read to speak and the fact that anxiety and nervousness is okay and normal even for the most seasoned presenter. This is a great book for presenters of all age and audience level. The chapters are broken down into bite-sized pieces that are easy to understand and implement. Whether you are a high schooler in public speaking class or paid presenter speaking in front of a ballroom full of conference attendees this book offers tricks of the trade to help keep audience members engaged. The book offers you a chance to make each presentation your own while offering a simple checklist along a timeline from the weeks before the presentation until the standing ovation at the end! I enjoyed how the author encouraged readers to try tips and ideas that may challenge the way they do it now and how important it is to continue to develop as a presenter no matter the group you are in front of.

Worth the Listen for Practical Advice

The Presenter's Dilemma is worth the listen. I especially liked the explanation of the science of the phobias associated with presenting and public speaking. The fears are real for some.

The practical information the author provides is valuable to both the seasoned speaker as well as the novice who may, indeed, have some fears and hesitations.

The audio book is clear and easy to follow. Highly recommend!

Fantastic!

This author gave me a confirmation that other speakers have jittery nerves before getting started too. Dressing in neutral colors versus bring colors was an additional piece that will be extremely helpful for the future. So many tips for presentations - setting up, presenting, and being successful. Thanks, Author!

Leaves no important detail unmentioned

Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2022

The information in this book will benefit anyone interested in understanding not only what best practices to use in presenting, as well as why these practices are important. The psychology behind what will inevitably make or break a presentation is an important factor to consider, and in this book, the author provides thorough detail when considering tools necessary to be as successful as possible. He references others’ tried-and-true works, provides statistics, describes what it means to be prepared, the importance of not only knowing your audience, but how to truly engage with them, why practicing is essential, how to manage obstacles, why your appearance (attire, posture, etc.) matters, etc.
From the beginner to the more experienced presenter, in The Presenter’s Dilemma you’ll find valuable information and undoubtedly important reminders to help keep your presentations sharp and engaging. I highly recommend this book for those entering college, or any profession which will require addressing audiences and/or doing presentations in front of groups.

Judgement arrives in 7 seconds

I enjoyed The Presenter's Delemma on Audible. I was impressed on how many statistics Dave was able to incorporate into the book. Knowing that it usually only takes someone approximately 7 seconds to form a judgement about you, makes learning the skills that are given in the book even more critical to your presentations success. These skills are presented well and in a way that makes the reader comfortable in knowing they are acquirable.

This book should be read by every high school student regardless of their future employment. These skills, like looking people in the eye when talking, have been lost. I beilieve the book would help young people become more confident.

Enjoy the book, and enjoy the success you will receive by having a well prepared and delivered presentation!
