Resumen del Editor

In these troubled times, The 'Plenty' Book gives wise guidance and hope to those who want to contribute to making a better society, but don’t know what to do or how to do it. Although we live in a divided world, this memoir prescribes non-partisan steps we can take to restore our personal sense of purpose and create value in our lives.

A GOOD BOOK WITH MANY COMPELLNG POINTS

STORYLINE AND POINTS ARE OKAY AND EASY TO FOLLOW
TOPIC POINTS AND ARGUMENTS ARE DISCUSSED FROM A LEFTIST, LIBERAL POINT OF VIEW . I WAS HOPING FOR A NON BIASED DISCUSSION WITH SOME GOOD POINT OF COMPROMISE.
SOME GOOD POINTS BUT NOT FINDING IT HERE.
LEAVES ANYONE WITH CONSERVATIVE VALUES DISAPPOINTED IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DISCUSSION TOWARDS PROGRESSIVE COMPROMISE.
ACCEPTABLE FOR TEENS AND OLDER AGES. YOUNGER CHILDREN ARE NOT ADVISED. JUST ON THE CONCERN OF INFLUENCING YOUTH WITH POLITICS IS NOT HEALTHY FOR THEM.

NARRATOR IS GREAT AS ALWAYS AND IS EASY TO FOLLOW.

Unapologetically biased with some ideas

This book is really depressing. The author gives his backstory early on and reveals that he was raised by abusive ultra liberals and is actually similar to Arthur Brooks upbringing except that he appears to have developed Stockholm's syndrome for liberal philosophy instead. I can happily listen to ideals from across the board and take the good and apply it. However, Steve, crosses way too many lines. He straight up calls most Conservative values evil, and he blames 100% of racism and other phobias and societal biased on conservatives making the untenable position that liberal views have the full gambit of societal graces and that liberals cannot be biased or racist.

The book gets 2 stars because it actually had a few really good points that are worth considering mixed into the mire of scorn and derision for anyone with different view points. For example, he advocates for making puertorico a state and splitting CA into 3 states to increase representation. Those are good goals and a viable solution. However he then takes it on to say that the only reason he would like to see that done is to Permanently tilt the senate liberal which is neither grounded in fact as California if divided is quite likely to yield more conservative senators and also not grounded in legitimate policy reasons. He advocates political gotcha maneuvers over advocating for solid ground breaking at every chapter. Examples include revoking the second amendment and abridging the power of the 14th. If the author had an ounce of diplomacy, some of the education and other goals that are fairly sound would be way more likely to be considered. However, as he does not I advise anyone Conservative or Liberal to get their ideas somewhere else. There are some good ones here but they are not worth the slog required to get at them.
