Acerca de esta escucha
Following the enormous popularity of their best-selling The Carrot Principle, Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton return with a groundbreaking guide to building high-performance teams. The powerful research reported in The Orange Revolution reveals that the true driver of exceptional success for great companies is not a genius CEO. Breakthrough success is driven by a particular breed of breakthrough team that generates its own momentum - a harmonious group of colleagues in the trenches, working passionately together to pursue a shared vision and leading their whole company to a new level. Yet the research also shows that less than 20 percent of teams are working anywhere near their optimal capacity.
Based on their extraordinary experience working with leading companies, including Zappos.com, Pepsi Bottling Group, and Madison Square Garden, as well as on a never-before-published 350,000-person study by the Best Companies Group - which issues the Best Places to Work list - Gostick and Elton reveal the five vital characteristics of these great teams and provide a powerful step-by-step prescription for building them. Through remarkable stories from organizations that have used these methods to take teams to the breakthrough level, they show exactly how to ignite the passion and vision to bring about an Orange Revolution.

Historia
The New York Times bestselling authors of The Carrot Principle and All In deliver a breakthrough, groundbreaking guide for building today’s most collaborative teams—so any organization can operate at peak performance.
A massive shift is taking place in the business world. In today’s average company, up to eighty percent of employees’ days are now spent working in teams. And yet the teams most people find themselves in are nowhere near as effective as they could be. They’re often divided by tensions, if not outright dissension, and dysfunctional teams drain employees’ energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Now Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton share the proven ways managers can build cohesive, productive teams, despite the distractions and challenges every business is facing.
In The Best Team Wins, Gostick and Elton studied more than 850,000 employee engagement surveys to develop their “Five Disciplines of Team Leaders,” explaining how to recognize and motivate different generations to enhance individual engagement; ways to promote healthy discord and spark innovation; and techniques to unify customer focus and build bridges across functions, cultures, and distance. They’ve shared these disciplines with their corporate clients and have now distilled their breakthrough findings into a succinct, engaging guide for business leaders everywhere. Gostick and Elton offer practical ways to address the real challenges today’s managers are facing, such as the rise of the Millennials, the increasing speed of change, the growing number of global and virtual teams, and the friction created by working cross-functionally.
This is a must-read for anyone looking to maximize performance at work, from two of the most successful corporate consultants of their generation, whom The New York Times called “creative and refreshing.”

We've all had experiences with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always need to be the smartest people in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them.

Good Business Book on Teams
Other than the fact that I wanted to frequently clear my throat while listening to Adrian Gostick (you'll understand when you listen to it) it was a awesome audio book. I have both the paper book and the audiobook. I liked listening to it better. You could feel the authors personality and passion. Which is always nice. The book has real stories with real companies that you recognize and can relate to. I previously worked at a top notch Children's hospital that knew exactly how to have "raving fans". I wish adult hospitals would figure this out.

We All Need to be More Like This!
Whether at work, at home or in our communities this book offers great ways to build teams, relationships and ultimately a beautiful Orange Revolution Culture! Highly recommend listening to this on Audible. Hearing the excitement and happiness in the authors’ voices was truly contagious! Many new and original ideas too! Some taking a little forethought, but most hardly cost a thing! The stories highlighted range from the branches of the military, to the medical industry, to retail, to playing hometown soccer. I’d like to buy this for every manager in my organization!
