Birth of an American 007

This book had everything for me. Shooting, action, adventure, a little making whopper and of course, Baseball.

Such a great adventure as we meet a man who after being broken down, builds back up to be more than he ever imagined. From someone who had his whole life thought and planned out to someone who has to fight to ensure he is alive tomorrow. The story was engaging, the details many (and accurate as far as tech info etc) and the whole adventure one that kept my earbuds glued in my ears!

Espionage

Thrilling story of Chase who is severely injured in a baseball game and finds his whole life changed by his injuries. The story is fast paced with plenty of action, spy drama and romance (although predicable).
The narration was excellent.
Looking forward to hearing his other books in the series

OMGosh, this book, even in its predictability, was awesome!!!!! I loved every single minute of it.

The opening sequence is so well-written and completely immersive into character psyche that when it shifted gears, I just knew I was in for a great ride. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

Spies and covert operations and assassins and espionage were front and center. The storyline was not overly complex and it kept my attention until the very satisfying (for some) ending.

The narration was fun. Tait voiced Chase, a strapping twentysomething male, and Anya, a Russian SVR agent with very distinct voices and characteristics. There were a series of additional Russian bad guys and Tait's Russian was flawless!!!!!

I've already downloaded the next book in the series!

Narrator was fantastic

Narrator was great. The first part of the book was good but I didn't realize it was more of a love story than an action book.

What an exciting base for setting up a series.

This book sets an amazing foundation for the start of a series that has massive potential, the combination of sea ,sun and Russians is perfect, the writing and story are on point and Kyle's narration fits the bill nicely.

Overall not bad

Opening Chase is interesting but not great. Don't bother with the other Chase titles--it gets tedious.

Opening Chase

I loved the premise of the book. The characters started strong and interesting, then the "girl" was introduced. At which point I felt like I was reading a Harlequin spy book. Chase started out to be a bad-ass spy, but soon became less than, falling 'in love'....after 1 meeting. The narrator was truly a joy to listen to. I doubt I'll be reading more.

Fantastic book!!

This is a fantastic book! Between baseball fever and an longing for a more exciting life this book comes alive! Cap Daniels is a fantastic writer and I cannot wait for the rest of the series!! Nothing better than spending an afternoon sitting down with this book and a glass of whiskey!

An incredible opening game to a super series!

Seldom, and maybe never, have I been so impressed and enthralled with an authors first serving as I was With Caps' ""Opening Chase." This was not a typical first book any beans. The reader learns very early that a lot of thought went into the story, as it develops characters and scenarios that will carry long into the series. Cap Daniels is, most definitely, one of the new superstar independent authors. You will become a very good friend of Chase Fulton very early on and will be there cheering him on in his victories as well as his defeats. I highly recommend this book but be ready, you will download the second one as soon as you finish the closing credits!
