Acerca de esta escucha

The disappearance of a mysterious informant leads two people desperate for answers to an island of deadly deception in this new novel in the Lost Night Files trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz.

Talia March, Pallas Llewellyn, and Amelia Rivers, bonded by a night they all have no memory of, are dedicated to uncovering the mystery of what really happened to them months ago--an experience that brought out innate psychic abilities in each of them. The women suspect they were test subjects years earlier, and that there are more people like them--all they have to do is find the list. When Talia follows up on a lead from Phoebe, a fan of the trio's podcast, she discovers that the informant has vanished.

Talia isn't the only one looking for Phoebe, however. Luke Rand, a hunted and haunted man who is chasing the same list that Talia is after, also shows up at the meeting place. It's clear he has his own agenda, and they are instantly suspicious of each other. But when a killer begins to stalk them, they realize they have to join forces to find Phoebe and the list.

The rocky investigation leads Talia and Luke to a rustic, remote retreat on Night Island in the Pacific Northwest. The retreat promises to rejuvenate guests with the Unplugged Experience. Upon their arrival, Talia and Luke discover guests are quite literally cut off from the outside world because none of their high-tech devices work on the island. It soon becomes clear that Phoebe is not the first person to disappear into the strange gardens that surround the Unplugged Experience retreat. And then the first mysterious death occurs...

Very likable characters ; great storyline; new story, place, characters, but also connects well with Lost night group theme.

Please write the next in the series quickly. Having to wait is difficult. When will it happen?

I Love the complicated details, cute romance adds to the spice. I cannot wait for the next in the series. Paranormal is exciting and fun.

Great series

Yes, the Publisher’s Summary in Audible gives the basic storyline.
Talia March and Luke Rand are likable enough characters but not really memorable. (I do like them more than Pallas and Ambrose.)
If you like Krentz books and have the cash to spare, you’ll like this book.
Kaminsky does a decent enough job with narration, and I’m still liking her way more than Rosenblat.

Are all of her books like this? I want to know.

The books are good, don’t get me wrong, but like why the vegetarian angle in both books? As a carnivore maybe I’m offended lol

This is a stupid review, but it was just a weird thing that stuck out. I’ll definitely read the next book though.

Why are they banging on about being vegetarians?

didn't feel a spark from the main characters, don't know why they would want to end up together. Mystery was ok

Not my favorite

This is the second book in the series. I highly recommend you read book one first. It captivates you with the twists and turns. The love story ensuing, the mushrooms and the plants. Enough paranormal to keep it believable. This is a great read.

2nd book in the series

Book 2 of the series. Although there are references to book 1, you could read them out of order.

Great listen

I actually liked the story and I did enjoy the narrator for the most part but there was a few things that made me cringe. First being the voice of the main male character. Every time I heard it the voice reminded me of someone trying to imitate a 90s emo teenager lol. The second is more my problem but it made me want to dig my nails in my palm every time I heard it. Look I know as a author you have to stay up to date with the current reading audience, but I’ve been reading JAK for 20 years and every single time she said 20th century or mid 20th century I internally cringed. I’m only 42 and saying that made me feel 99 lol but like I said that’s more my problem.

I liked the story but,

The Night Island (The Lost Night Files #2) was a great read by Jayne Ann Krentz. Talia March, Pallas Llewellyn, and Amelia Rivers all bonded by a night that they have no memory of. They do what they can to uncover the mystery of what happened to them months ago. The women suspect they were test subjects years earlier and are looking for the other people like them. Talia follows up on a lead from a fan of their podcast, Phoebe, and discovers that the informant vanished. Luke Rand is also looking for the same list of test subjects and shows up at the meeting place. They are both suspicious of eachother but they know they need to join forces to find Phoebe and the list. They are led to a rustic, remote retrear on Night Island in the Pacific Northwest. They quickly find out that people are literally cut off from the outside world because their devices dont work on the island. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
