Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them.
Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn't sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her.
But Gabi has a secret, something she's keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she's always painted him to be...and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she's been just a little bit attracted to him - no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses - but "Lex Luthor" is an evil womanizer. He's dangerous. Gabi should stay far, far away.
Then again, she's always wanted a little danger.

Lex is a complete jerk to Gabi, since they made out at a college party. Their chemistry was instant, but out of respect for his and Ian’s friendship, Lex decides to keep Gabi at a distance and make her hate him. I love that Gabi is sassy right back and always makes him eat his words, ha! The narration to this book was perfect. Jeremy York & Carly Robins did an incredible job bringing Lex and Gabi to life. I enjoyed every minute of it. I will say, the hispanic/latino accents for Gabi's parents do need some work. Overall, the narration was great! The back & forth between Lex & Gabi held me captive throughout the whole book. It was full of sweet, cute moments, funny antics, and sexy hot chemistry. This couple might have become my favorite.
The chemistry was scorching!! 🔥

When Blake arrives to ask for this service, he was upset to find it was his friend, Gabi’s, roomate.
Sparks fly as Ian tries to transform Blake to become more attractive to her love choice, but now Ian likes Blake and is not too sure how much help he wants to give her.
At times the book is funny, but at the end it just became very long.

Rachel Van Dyken does it again! I have been waiting for Lex and Gabby's story since meeting them in Book 1. Their little rivalry (for lack of a better word) had me intrigued then so as soon as I was able one-click, I did. I even snatched up the audible book as well for those times when I would have to put my kindle down. From my experience with previous RVD books, this is a must for me as I always seem to get lost in her stories.
Lex and Gabby had me laughing so hard I cried down my leg. Seriously, I'm not lying. I laughed so hard. When they do come together, it's like an explosion. Which is expected with all the passion they throw into their "wars".
I did enjoy the "Kindle in Motion" feature available with this book. It did make for a more interactive read. I felt like I connected more with the characters although, I did have Lex pictured differently in my head.
Rachel has become my go to author when I'm in the mood for a good read that will have me rolling on the floor laughing. I look forward to her next hilarious read.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Matchmaker's Replacement to be better than the print version?
I think it is better to hear the voices as it brings the characters to life.Any additional comments?
The Matchmaker's Replacement by Rachel Van Dyken was a great book. I loved the dynamic between Lex and Gabi. They hate each other but Lex starts training her for her new job at Wingmen Inc. I enjoyed reading about how things can be so blurred when Lex and Gabi are close to each other. I loved that the author make the characters people that you both love and hate. I can't wait to read more by the author. I recommend this book to everyone.Great Book

What made the experience of listening to The Matchmaker's Replacement the most enjoyable?
The characters, RVD writes such fantastic characters! And the banter- so witty and entertaining, you want the book to go on and on.What did you like best about this story?
I loved that Lex and Gabs stayed true to who they are throughout the story, even after they fell for each other. The teasing and arguing- it was all so "them" and it worked so well!Which scene was your favorite?
Goodness, which one wasn't a favorite??? I really enjoyed the moments in Lex's pov, when we'd see his vulnerability come through as he was realizing he was falling for Gabby. And when Gabby "burritoed" Lex was so funny!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! But I listened to it during my commute to and from work- I wish I had the kind of job where I could have earbuds in and listen all day.Any additional comments?
I loved this duet! It was so fun and engaging.Perfect Enemies to Lovers story!
