Worship from Afar
Brooks Sutherland has been interested in Darcy Winters since he first laid eyes on him at the Courtesan Hotel, where Brooks worked as a bodyguard. Darcy never knew he existed. When Brooks had a seizure that resulted in loss of his eyesight from a head trauma, he could no longer do his job. Years later, Brooks comes back to bid on Darcy at the annual summer auction. He knows Darcy all too well and wants him to relax before Darcy kills himself from stress. Kidnapping him away for a vacation is perfectly reasonable - to Brooks.

Workaholic on Vacation
As far as Darcy is concerned, the Courtesan Hotel will be a disaster without him, so he doesn’t expect his mother to put him up for auction as a last-minute surprise. The man who wins time with him is charming, but Darcy has no plans to be swept away from his work. A night will more than do. When Brooks hustles him off on a vacation, he’s not sure how to relax, but Brooks is a good distraction.

Stress Less or Else
Darcy needs someone to teach him how to let go, and Brooks thinks he’s that man. But making a relationship work is a lot harder than he expects, because Darcy runs back to the Courtesan every chance he gets. Brooks wants to take care of Darcy, but unless Brooks can learn what that really means, he’ll push Darcy away instead. If that happens, neither man will get what he needs.

Fantastic!!

This was fantastic! I was shocked when Madam’s Winters put her baby boy Darcy on the auction block!! She only wants him to find love and when she sees Brooks there, she knows he’s perfect for her boy. Darcy is an unwilling participant in a couple of Brooks shenanigans. Brooks used to work for Madam Winters at the Courtesan as one of her bodyguard until a health crisis stopped him. I loved Brooks but holy moly was he patient!! Darcy could be so freakin mean and abrasive. I still don’t like Madam Winters and I really don’t like Levi, but I loved Darcy and Brooks! The chemistry, tension and steam rolled out of the speakers! TJ Clark did a fantastic job with the narrative, sooo good!!

The Madam's Boy

The only life Darcy has is the Courtesan, all that he knows is the running of the place for his mother. Darcy loves his mother but at times he longs for a life outside of the Courtesan. Little does he know that his mother has plans for Darcy that do not include the Courtesan. When Darcy finds himself in the summer auction, he will do what he must and follow through with his mother’s plans no matter what it costs him.

I enjoyed Darcy’s story. He is so much more than what everyone perceives him to be. Only one man ever saw the truth and now he has come back to lay claim to Darcy. Brooks has come to show Darcy that there is more to life than the Courtesan and he is ready for the fight even if he has to fight Darcy himself. It was nice to see the relationship grow between the two. Brooks and Darcy make a wonderful couple and it was nice to see Darcy grow with the help of Brooks. I liked that Brooks was a strong person even with his health problems he lives a good life. The author weaves a story full of strong characters and emotions. Narrator TJ Clark does a good job of bringing this story to life and pulling me in.

Darcy

I'm ambivalent about Madam Winters. Her manipulations and machinations were done with love for Darcy , but... I liked seeing another side of Darcy , and it softened my heart towards him. I enjoyed Brooks ' patience (to a point) and his perseverance. I empathized with Levi's crush. 😪 What a delicious epilogue. Warm and fuzzies . I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters and story to life.

Audio and Story = 💜💜

Really really loved this book and narrator. A very good pairing, from the more emotional to the steamy scenes. The scenes here were hot AF! I’m so glad I got the opportunity to listen.

Finding A Balance

Brooks was always enamored with Darcy and when a night like no other presents itself, he finally gets his chance to be with him even though it's cloaked in secret.

Darcy is a workaholic who has devoted his whole life to his mother's business. When her scheming puts him in a position he never thought he would find himself in, he needs to find the courage to embrace the situation.

Two unlikely characters come together to find a balance in a chaotic atmosphere and learn to embrace the passion that sizzles between them.

The story is captivating at times with its sizzling scenes and see saw emotions as well as sensitively executed with consideration to Brooks condition.

The narrator does a wonderful job and brings these characters to life beautifully. A fantastic listen overall.

Wow what a ride!

This was such a unique storyline! I love how the two connected and everything they went throw. Levi, wow, what a character 😁

Good Story

I liked how even though Brooks had issues with his health and vision, he was able to overcome them and be a independent force to be reckoned with. His love for Darcy is visible from the beginning. Darcy had a hard time overcoming his need to control the situations around him. He was able to give up some of his control and you could see his love for Brooks.

Sweet Prince Find his HEA

It surprised me who Darcy really is as in other books, he was portrayed to be an ice prince and who seemed to be a difficult person to get to know. But Darcy turned out to be quite a charming young man with a big heart and kind to people, esp. Brooks. I also find Brooks to be a good fit for Darcy despite his physical handicap. I think the author did a wonderful job to tell a story of how they met in a very unusual manner, how they developed their feelings towrad each out and worked out romantically and physically.. it must be a challenge to portray Brooks as a strong person who claim his love despite his physical weakness. The narrator is great too and in my mind truly voiced who Brooks and Darcy are as two very different persons. The narration makes reading the book extra exciting and touching... I certainly enjoyed the listening and the story.

Darcy and Brooks were adorable together and I loved the chemistry between them.

The characters were likeable and well fleshed out.

The storyline was engaging and interesting.

The narrator performed an enthusiastic Audio delivery and narration.

Definitely recommend this steamy listen.

A fun listen

I wasn't sure if I was going to like the book because I didn't like the idea of selling someone's body, but once I found out why he was sold, I was intrigued. The story is fun and I loved the banter between the main characters. This is the first story I have listened to where epilepsy is the disability. My sister has epilepsy so I could relate to what the character was going through. I really enjoyed this book and the narrator did an excellent job.
