Growing up in a quiet Yorkshire village, Roxanne couldn’t wait to escape and find her place in the world in London. Michael, a widower trying to make a go of a small bakery, particularly so. Little by little, cupcake by cupcake, Roxanne and Michael fall into a comforting friendship.

Fun, light read

The story and characters are sweet. They make me miss Yorkshire and hope to find a Burley Bridge, with a bookshop, a bakery, and a vintage store, all in a row :) I’d give the story 5 stars except that it is really predictable. But sometimes a low-stress story is nice.
