In a world that is veering dangerously off course from what it calls “truth” comes a classic work that unmasks the lies we unwittingly believe, lies that destroy us and ultimately damage our emotional health, relationships, and spiritual life.
In this completely revised and updated edition, psychologist Dr. Chris Thurman guides the listener through the lies we believe about ourselves, relationships, life, men, women, and, most important, God. He then unpacks the twelve essential truths for emotional health and the truth about God—the ultimate source of Truth.
This easy-to-follow guide to renewing the mind helps identify problem areas and the midcourse correction needed in how we view ourselves and our world. With biblical support, this timeless classic is required listening to help develop the mind of Christ and be able to experience the abundant life.

I ordered a printed copy and the workbook to go back and read along with the workbook.
God knew I needed this!

Jaw Dropping Truth

One of the most crippling lies I carried as a divorced single mother was the expectation that he would show up the way I thought he should. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that expectation was poisoning my mind and stealing my peace. I was waiting on support that was never guaranteed, taken away, or dangled over our heads through emotional manipulation, and the weight of that hope deferred was breaking me.
When I finally released that expectation and placed it fully in God’s hands, something shifted. I stopped parenting from a place of disappointment and started raising my children in hope. God became the Provider I had been subconsciously demanding someone else to be.
Despite his choice of limited involvement, God blessed my children to graduate college—and with little debt. Letting go of the lie didn’t leave us lacking; it positioned us to receive more than I imagined.
Fantastic!!! I was almost instantly delivered from expectations in the worst way!
