Resumen del Editor

We’re not supposed to trust others. Look at the headlines. Read the blogs. Study the survey data. It seems that everyone is wary, that everyone is just looking out for themselves. But a sense of social trust and togetherness can be restored.

In The Leap, bestselling author Ulrich Boser shows how the emerging research on trust can improve our lives, rebuild our economy, and strengthen society. As part of this engaging and deeply reported narrative, Boser visits a radio soap opera in Rwanda that aims to restore the country’s broken trust, profiles the man who brought honesty to one of the most corrupt cities in Latin America, and explains how a college dropout managed to con his way into American high society. Boser even goes skydiving to see if the experience will increase his levels of oxytocin, the so-called "trust hormone."

A powerful mix of hard science and compelling storytelling, The Leap explores how we trust, why we trust, and what we can all do to deepen social trust. The audiobook includes insightful policy recommendations along with surprising new data on the state of social trust in America today.

Multiple Strategy Tie Ins

What does trust have to do with Strategy? Plenty it seems understanding how and why humans trust and the importance of building trust while not trusting too much are critical to decision making. Hoser lies out the basics of trust even tying them back to game theory and scientific research. He leads the reader from there to see the importance of building social trust, how it can be manipulated and finally what we all can do to make our neighborhoods and nations more trusting.

Brilliantly explores the science of trust.

Loved it and breezed right through it, thrilled the whole time by thought-provoking anecdotes and compelling evidence. A real joy to listen to; plus I was left with a more complete view of such an important subject... Highly recommended!!!

This is the worst audible I've heard out of 430+

Skip it. It's boring. Unimpactful. Poorly supported. Poorly written. And honest overall lazy AF when it comes to really driving his point home with supporting evidence, nor does it EVER enroll the reader into caring the message. Save your money until he puts out a more thorough piece worth investment.
