The dead should stay dead.
Daniel Harper surfaces from a coma that has robbed him of two years of his life only to find himself thrust into a world threatened by an outbreak that could wipe out all mankind.
Forming an uneasy alliance, Daniel is assisted by James Edmunds, the top genetic research scientist at the privately run research centre that currently holds him prisoner, while trying to discover the secrets to the Resurrection program.
On the run and running out of time, can Daniel stop the approaching apocalypse?
If you loved Jason Bourne and The Walking Dead, then this is definitely for you. Fast-paced and plot-driven, an audiobook you won't want to put down until the very end.

It's amazingly suspenseful.

Yep, it's a zombie book.
A secret research facility engaged in unethical practices; an ethical scientist, tricked into signing up before figuring out too late it wasn't the job he signed up for; a soldier wakes from a two year coma with no knowledge of how he got there. So far, so familiar.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, lies the problem. There's nothing new here. The zombies are kept under wraps for most of the book, as it revolves around the MCs, Daniel and James, and their escape from the facility. The narrator is quite good, throwing in an array of accents, but he reads a little fast and slowing the speed doesn't make it better. The ending, the last couple of minutes, are kind of silly, and I'm not sure I'll continue the series.
The writing/reading was pretty good, the pace was breakneck, and if you, like me, are not averse to hokey plots or YA vibes, you should give this a look, but don't expect it to take the zombie genre to the next level.
Interesting take on zombie genre
