Resumen del Editor

Prophecy is prologue...

England, 1775: An ambitious American pushes his expedition onward despite dire warnings from the locals. But what Benjamin Franklin discovers on the Isle of Wight isn't just superstition. It's a secret with the power to save the world - or destroy it.

In less than 400 days, most of the world's population will be dead. Nobody knows why, only when: February 9, 2027.

Retired FBI Special Agent Will Piper is one of the few who will live "Beyond the Horizon." Fifteen years ago, he revealed the prophecy to the world after the hunt for a madman led him to the mystical Library of Vectis, now housed at Area 51, in an unmarked location in the Nevada desert.

Will is determined to live out his days in the Florida sun...even as the world sinks into hedonism and despair...even as the Doomsday Killer's ominous calling cards resurface...until the apocalypse threatens the one thing Will won't compromise on: his own flesh and blood.

Worth Listening to

if you listened to the first 2 books. The story was interesting...a little bit missing. But the real problem was the narration. This was not the same narrator as the first two books. I could not connect with the main charater, Will in this story as his voice completely changed. It was just weird...in fact I never really connected with any characters in this one.

Would you want to know the date you were to die?

Where does The Keepers of the Library rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ranks very high

Who was your favorite character and why?

Will Piper... ladies man, leader, and quick thinker with a straight-to-the-point attitude

Which scene was your favorite?

Final scene was my favorite ... I couldn't have guessed how it was going to end. Nicely done! Could there be a 4th book in the works?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was very engaging and the author does a great job mixing present day story with the historical story. Full of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat.

Any additional comments?

There is a part in the beginning of the book that chews up about 45 minutes recounting what happened in the two books prior that led up this this third book... this was a little annoying, but if you hadn't read the first two books you'll probably enjoy that synopsis.

Wonderful!

Great addition to the series, can't wait for the next book. Awesome narrator, kept me hooked on the book. Can't wait to listen to his other books!

Lots of fun!

What did you love best about The Keepers of the Library?

All the historical elements that were woven together.

What did you like best about this story?

How it jumped from the present day, to different times in the past.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Benjamin Franklin was looking up the names of his friends in the books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the man who owned the farm (can't remember his name) was so distraught when his son was killed. I felt awful for him!

Any additional comments?

I wish this author would write another book in this series, maybe with Will's son being the investigator. The ending of this book was open enough that it would be possible!

Pay attention to those old books in the basement!

If you could sum up The Keepers of the Library in three words, what would they be?

Dynamic
Historical
Fascinating

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Keepers of the Library?

The Benjamin Franklin secret society dinner, and the result of that epic scene, was rather compelling. Drew a fascinating image of the scene, and the dialogue therein.

Have you listened to any of David Doersch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have, and he is turning into on of my favourite performers. His accents, pacing, and consistency make for a rich listening experience. In his top performances, without a doubt.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Authors of the Future

Any additional comments?

This one is classic Cooper. Historical references, larger than life characters, and enough action, , suspense and intrigue to catch and retain the listeners attention. I got hooked on this one, and I do recommend it.

Nice end to the story

Would you listen to The Keepers of the Library again? Why?

I have listened to the first two books more than once and couldn't wait for this one. The Keepers of the Library is a nice way to end the series, albeit not as suspenseful as the other two books. The narrator was a little off too - there were a lot of characters and his choice of voices (especially for Greg) took me away from the story a little. If you liked the first two books and want to see what happens next, I definitely suggest you give this a try.

What did you like best about this story?

Puts a nice bow on the story.

Did David Doersch do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

He did differentiate, however the tone of characters was not the best.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The end...or beginning?

Any additional comments?

Very happy audible added this to the collection!

Great Addition to the Series

"The Keepers of the Library" is a great addition to the Will Piper series. I say addition because Glenn Cooper leaves room for books in the series at the end of this book. "The Keepers of the Library" is a well-written, intriguing, roller-coaster of a book. The only downside of the whole book was the performance of the narrator, David Doersch. His performance was at times robotic and generally difficult to listen to.

Felt a little cheated. Not AS good as the others.

I felt like the book was pretty good. I think I just felt as though the author just made up a place for a 3rd book to go and pushed it into that. It felt like the story line was a little forced.
The ending of this book leaves off exactly where you wished it would've started. That will make sense if you've read it. Overall it was good but not to the caliber the other two books were. Just my opinion.

PS. I felt like he could've been so much more creative and descriptive of future technology. Think of the possibilities you'd have if you were talking about technology in 30 years from now? But he comes up with Net pens. That's about it.
