Josephus began as a Jewish leader of the rebellion but when captured by the Romans, he switched sides to work as a negotiator in their effort to suppress the resistance. Josephus's words create a vivid picture from the capture of Jerusalem to the mass suicides at Masada. Herodotus was a Greek historian born in Halicarnassus, subject at the time of the great Persian Empire. He lived in the fifth century BC (c. 484 - c. 425 BC), a contemporary of Socrates. He is often referred to as "The Father of History", a title originally conferred by Cicero. Herodotus was the first historian known to have broken from Homeric tradition in order to treat historical subjects as a method of investigation, specifically by collecting his materials in a critical, systematic fashion and then arranging them into a chronological narrative.

Good book
An important book for anyone interested in the subject of Judaism and the history of the people of Israel, it should be noted that the author is taken with a limited guarantee because he wrote the book during the lifetime of Antiochus and the author of the book is political but overall reliable

Brutally Painful
The narrator is so bad that I cannot listen to this any longer. I have made several attempts and am now requesting a refund for this book. It’s really too bad because the story of Josephus Flavius is interesting and insightful on what really happened between the Jews and the Romans.
