Absolutely fantastic

One of the best audio books in my collection. The narrator is a pleasure to listen to, almost making you feel like you are listening to Herodotus himself. As for the book itself, it is easily as entertaining if not more so than any bestselling fantasy series. Fantastic lands filled with wonder, mad kings, epic battles, fates of nations decided by riddles from gods. Great tragedies and great comedies. "Hippocleides doesn't care!" story is pure comedy gold, delivery and all.

A Classic, Well Narrated

Herodotus is an entertaining blend of real history and tall tale. Everyone who considers themselves a fan of ancient history should read this. The narrator is energetic, and perfectly intones to keep the long compound sentences from sounding confusing in a spoken format.

I loved this book. It is definitely worth a read if you are a historian and want to learn the origin.
