THE BATTLES

I believe it's a true art to be able to describe battles so good that you can see it in your mind as it's being described. This book has truly captured that ability to it's highest! The humor in this one was amazing as well. could not stop laughing about poor puks fears. can't wait for the next book, evenfall is truly an amazing direction for the heros!

The storyline

The fun mixed with passion of all the fey. The interactions of the different courts and the various glamours they command.

Need a new reader

I love the Iron Fey series and have read and listened to them for years. But the reader for this one is got an annoying voice for the female characters. I wishbthey could have gotten McCloud Andrews to read it.

Series just keeps getting better

The Iron Sword is gripping, exciting, and emotional. Prince Ash was banished from the Winter Court for falling in love and accomplished the impossible by earning a soul at the End of the World to stay by Queen Meghan’s side. Now he faces an even more impossible odds as their son, King Keirran of the Forgotten is missing and something more ancient and sinister known as Evenfall is approaching. Unless Ash and his allies can stop it, the chaos that has begun to divide their world will shatter for eternity. This is one of my favorite series and it just keeps getting better. I love it so much. I was surprised by some of the funny scenes, most of them not surprised came from Puck. The idea of Evenfall and the Evenfey is interesting. The Iron Raven featured Puck and the Iron Sword featured Ash for the POV so I hope that the third book will have Meghan or maybe Nyx. Still I can’t wait for what happens next. The Iron Sword is filled with danger, shock, adventurous and emotion. Vikas Adam is pretty darn good with the voices, especially the female ones.

Definitely worth the listen

I pre-ordered this book a few months ago and was so excited when it finally dropped! Definitely not disappointed! I cant wait for the next one now

I like the new character and always enjoy Puck.

I liked the story,but felt it wasn't very addictive. The iron King was my favorite. I will still continue the series though. I enjoy the characters and would like to see what happens next,

Fun time

the book was a wonderful adventure that explores more of the new threat and gives answers to the why and what. written in the perspective of ash makes it a more serious toned story which i enjoy alot. i am looking foward to the final installment in what is written to be the biggest threat theyve ever faced.

Julie Kagawa did it again!

Julie creates worlds and characters that are so detailed and feel so real and tangible, it always feels weird when you finish the book and have to go back to the real world! At this point in the Iron Fey series, I’ve known these characters for a long time and I’m so invested in them! I always think that she can’t top her latest book, and then she proves me wrong with the next one.

Too dark for my taste

I've really enjoyed all the other Iron Fey books and I really wanted to like this one too. And I did, somewhat; there was good world building and the plot was interesting enough, but the overall tone was just so dark. Ash is just really angry and depressed for most of the book, and, while that's understandable given his current circumstances, it doesn't make him a very engaging narrator. He doesn't have much character growth, nor do we see much growth in any of the other characters. He has a few good moments with Puck and Megan where we see some real growth and connection, and there are a few moments of much needed comic relief from Puck, but overall the tone is just too dark and sad for my taste.

One thing I did like (though I wish it happened earlier) was the reveal about Nix's origin, though I won't spoil it. Part of the reveal is given earlier, in a way that's sort of anticlimactic, but the details and the confirmation happen later. It's mostly her own response that's interesting and gives her some real character development. I hope book 3 gives us a bit more about her and Puck. I really like Puck as a narrator, so I hope book 3 goes back to him, or maybe or Megan as narrator. Ash and Keiren are just not good narrators for when things are so dark. Megan and Puck and just more engaging characters in that context. I did quite like hearing from Ash when he was on his journey to earn a soul, because there was a whole lot of character development of backstory in that book.
