Resumen del Editor

In The Invisible Man, a scientist theorizes that if a person's refractive index is changed to exactly that of air his body does not absorb or reflect light, then he will not be visible. He successfully carries out this procedure on himself, but cannot become visible again, becoming mentally unstable as a result.

In The Time Machine, we follow the Time Traveller to the year 802,701 A.D.. He finds a golden race of small, soft, innocent people. But what is it that lurks in the dark shadows? And what happens when the glorious time machine is stolen?

one better than the other

The performance is well done. Personally I enjoyed more the second story as the first is well know and maybe watching movies with same topic diminishes its value.

thrilling listening experience

I have been listening to books on tape since the 1970s enjoying many classics from PD James to Sinclair Lewis.
Outside of Rumple of the Bailey I believe all of these HG Wells stories are thrilling, fascinating, and at times horrifying. These two stories are no exception.
Since I treat my audible books like bedtime stories I enjoy someone with a soft voice, and BJ Harrison has a great voice for just that. His voice is gentle and persuading, so you have an opportunity to truly listen to the story.

Excellent Read/Listen

Fascinating look at the hope of mankind to transcend its failings: human farming implemented with economic subjugation, division of the population into factions, and fabricated wars. Will man's evolution mature us out of mutual exploitation into true egalitarianism or will we as a society only develop into a world Potemkin village? As timely a read as it was in Wells' age.

a good combo

This combination is a relatively easy listen. i do manual labor while i listen, and the story is enrapturing enough to stave my attention from the work.

When The Invisible Man ends and The Time Machine begins

For people who want to skip to the end of TIM and just read The Time Machine, The Invisible Man ends on Chapter 28 whereas TTM starts at chapter 29.

Haven't listened listened to the Invisible Man...

I bought this for the Time machine and thought the sample was good, and the price was good and it had two books. I have listened to the Invisible Man once before and Time Machine twice before. But the Time Machine was one of my favorites so I wanted to listen again. However I had to dock off two stars because I have listened to the Invisible Man before and didn't really like it as I remember. That is why I skipped to the Time Machine.

I will go back listen to the Invisible Man later and change my review, but for the price and performance, it is definately worth buying because at worse you get one good book with a good narator for a very low price.

Pretty good

H.G. Wells exposes the inner feelings, fears, and desires of man. It's a little like looking in a mirror.

The stories could be more believable.

What other book might you compare The Invisible Man and The Time Machine to and why?

Not sure. It's definitely period fiction.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Morlok attacks.

Could you see The Invisible Man and The Time Machine being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

The time machine is a great movie already!
