Resumen del Editor

In this landmark book of interfaith dialogue, the Dalai Lama provides an extraordinary Buddhist perspective on the teachings of Jesus, commenting on well-known passages from the four Christian Gospels including the Sermon on the Mount, the parable of the mustard seed, the Resurrection, and others. Drawing parallels between Jesus and the Buddha - and the rich traditions from which they hail - His Holiness delivers a profound affirmation of the sacred in all religions. Listeners will be inspired by the Dalai Lama's discussion of the endless merits of each tradition and uplifted by the common humanity between them.

Interesting thoughts on Christian scriptures

It is very good but I do suggest skip the first 2 chapters as they are introductions which are covered by the succeeding chapters. Definitely miss chapter 2 as it is nearly a copy of chapter 1.
Once the book gets going, it is very interesting and I will listen to it again as I missed understanding everything.
Wonderful to have a Christian book on Amazon that isn’t fundamentalist!

Excellent for Christians or Buddhists interested in the other religion

The spirit of this book is one of reverence and mutual respect among great practitioners of these two great religions.

Better than expected after the first chapter...

If you could sum up The Good Heart in three words, what would they be?

Over-analyzed, Interesting, Meaningful

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Dalai Lama's interpreter, I Just felt like he was listening to the Dalai Lama with the same contemplative anticipation that I was and I felt a sort of kinship with him from the start.

Which scene was your favorite?

When The Dalai Lama Told the joke that caused his interpreter uncontrollable giggles.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Anytime the Dalai Lama expressed his gratitude or sense of closeness to his fellow man is moving.

Any additional comments?

I almost gave this book up because I feel like the writer was interjecting too much of his own interpretation of what the Dalai Lama meant into it and I can not stand to be told what I'm supposed to take away from an abstract concept! So I almost swapped this book out for another one but I managed to stick it out by simply ignoring those parts but there were a lot of them so it was a pain, but the overall book is worth the listen, and hey if you are the type of person who enjoys other people telling you what you're supposed to glean from someone else's wisdom then this intrusive habit of the writer's shouldn't bother you!

The balance we need

"I've never read the Bible", the Dali Lama said, but he did his best to honor and examine Christianity's greatest teachings in a session of worldwide religious denominations. What was taken away from that meeting joined them all in ways they never could have imagined. Here is where hope is born.

Very Interesting Book

For me it was interesting to hear the dialogue between the two traditions of Buddhism and Christianity. I have known that there were many similarities and differences between the two traditions, but ultimately they have the same core values of love, tolerance, acceptance, ect. Thank you for your time and effort. : )

A faith renewed through compassion

'The Good Heart' is the most inspirational and heartfelt interpretation of the altruistic nature of Jesus Christ I have ever encountered.

Amazing book!

This book has been very insightful into the similarities of Christianity and Buddhism and I think even more so now that the Christian religion was built off of Buddhism especially with knowing about the book of The Life of Saint Issa.
