Resumen del Editor

A Drekki Flynt Audiobook

Drekki Flynt is in trouble…again.

Believed lost after falling into the deadly maelstrom known as the Eye of Testudinous, Evtorr, one of Flynt’s old crew, is found alive and well. Kind of. He’s raving mad, won't shut up about the fabled Dead Air, and worse, shadowy assassins from Ulgu seem dead set on making sure Evtorr doesn't rejoin his fellows aboard the Aelsling.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Drekki Flint's adventures continue as he embarks on a quest to find the legendary Barak-Minoz. Can he walk away with its riches or has the swashbuckler bitten off more than he can chew?

THE STORY

There is something in Evtorr’s ravings that piques Drekki’s interest and that he can't let go – the Dead Air is the last known location of the famed Barak-Minoz. If they can just get there… Well, Drekki Flynt can smell aether-gold a realm off, and surely Barak-Minoz is dripping with riches just ripe for the taking.

But there are forces at work that would stop Drekki from finding out what happened to Barak-Minoz. To even locate it, he must do what no captain has ever done before – navigate the Eye of Testudinous, and live to tell the tale!

classic fantasy novel

as with many new Sigmar novels this does not really require much knowledge on the background. nothing exceptional but a fun story. the only annoying thing are the Dwarven words thrown in with explanations of the meaning throughout

Drekki does it again!

Another great Drekki Flynt story by Guy Haley! Had the great feeling of familiarity from the first novel while adding in interesting new characters! Can’t wait for the next adventure!

Great Adventure, Little Rough Around the Edges

SPOILERS FREE. Guy Haley continues to be a great writer for Age of Sigmar. This is a great adventure and follow-up to Arkanaut's Oath. The crew identities and familial feel are better written here. Lots of interesting physics and environmental problems, making it feel more realistic. Interesting enemy that broke some of the Warhammer norms.

However, I think there are some missed opportunities with this one. Certain characters are left sitting out too long, or intriguing issues are left unexplored. I think it needed a little more time with the editor.

SOME SPOILERS NOW ON FLAWS: Though she has some great scenes at the end, Kenna left sitting out most of the book and being the object of rescue later on feels a little sloppy. It's the damsel in distress cliche creating conflict for Bokko + Guy Haley seems to have wanted to have one less crew member to manage. Evtorr's madness causes interesting conflict, but despite being the impetus for the adventure, it doesn't feel like much interesting came of it. I was thinking they may see their wizard friend from the last book to help with it, but it doesn't even occur to the characters. Uzki as a scrappy doo type sidekick was just sort of whatever, but not too bad. They use warmth runes earlier in the adventure that never come up again even though the temperature remains a problem. Maybe they should have strapped them to their guns to fight the ice trolls and ghosts.

All in all, I think this one needed a little more time in the oven, but was a great adventure book to mow through anyways.

Drekki Flynt Strikes Again!

Another Great Story for the KO! Loved the insight into the politics of the KO and how even the KO can have grudges against other KO.

A warhammer book for the ages

Few warhammer books elicit this kind of joy in me but I am proud to say this is by far one of the best I have ever read. The book is packed full of swashbuckling action, heart, and humor that made me so excited to listen to the next chapter. Despite a large cast of characters everyone managed to make an impact on the story and it really felt like a crew of lovable misfits. Guy Haley writes an excellent tale and Andrew Spooner gives so much life and unique voices to all the characters. It’s a book that is only equalled in excellence by the Infinite and the divine. I should have never doubted this book would be good, because he’s Drekki Flynt!

High flying adventure and intrigue!

A follow on to the first Drekki Flynt novel and the clear start for a series to come. If you enjoy Kharadron, comedy, and adventure you won’t be disappointed.
