The Forgotten Girls is everything I want in true crime and more: deeply researched, emotionally grounded, and told with absolute respect for the victims.

Dr. Alyce Clark doesn’t just recount cases, she reconstructs lives. You can feel the extreme precision in every story, the hours of research behind each detail.

Nothing feels rushed or sensationalized. Instead, she gives these women back their identities, their dreams, and their humanity, while still walking you clearly through the facts of each case.

The credibility is outstanding, but so is the heart.

The narration by Rachael Doolen is perfect for this kind of book. Her voice, pacing, and timing are spot on, delivering the heavy parts with care and the investigative parts with clarity.
