I love, respect and appreciate everything about this book. it's message and the authenticity of Geri's journey. I'm also grateful that she read it and not someone else.

At first I was alittle turned off by the phraseology and use of the word "quitting". As I read I began to understand the choice of words. Very practical and helpful counsel.

The end was the best! Wow!

This book was so “ON TIME” for me! I needed it and the women in our group for the study and growth. We started with a bang and ended with a full on fireworks show! What a celebration of great information that we can apply to our lives so that we can grow into emotionally and spiritually healthy women. Thank you, Geri, for doing the work and laying it out for others so we can grow together. Your courage and strength have blessed me.

Very relatable and practical

I very much identified with the book. It was life giving and affirming to hear the emotions that I was unable to put into words and feel the affirmation that it is okay to feel burnt out and frustrated.

I listened to this book on Audible and I appreciated that the author narrated it.

One fault though is that the spoken chapter numbers are completely in correct in the recording that I listened to. The author introduced the last chapter (11), but then one hears her state "Chapter 8". This happened several times throughout the book, just when announcing the start of the chapter.

Great truths

Quitting is not something usually associated with Christians- in fact I do not think of myself as a quitter at all; yet God used Geri to help me to see several things I need to quit- like lying! I’m a good Christian - in fact I’m a pastor! But I didn’t realize how often I say yes to people even though I want to say no. I simply say yes because I think I’m supposed to, because it is the nice thing to do. The result is I end up overcommitted, taxed and worn out trying to meet everyone else’s needs instead of doing only what God has called me to.

I have read all of the other “Emotionally Healthy” books by the Scazzero’s and each has beautiful gems of wisdom. There is some overlap, but surprising little. In fact any overlap is a helpful reminder, “oh, yeah, I forgot I need to do that, think that, change that, etc.” I have read other books on emotional health, deliverance, spiritual health and maturity. It is possible that some of them tilled up the soil, but the Emotionally Healthy Leader, and EHS were the ones that God used to bring breakthrough. I highly recommend them!

Great examples!

I loved how she used relatable examples for each principle. Her tone of voice is according with the topic.

Important Listen

This book was recommended by a friend, and I'm so grateful I took the time to listen. There are some hard but necessary lessons to be learned from this. The author laid her soul bare so we could learn from her mistakes. I recommend it.
