Showbiz comes to Oxford in the form of Britain's hottest new talent show, and tearoom owner Gemma Rose gets a peek behind the scenes when she's asked to cater for the event. But with the Old Biddies, entering the contest as England's first "granny band", and her little tabby, Muesli, stealing the limelight, Gemma soon ends up with more than she bargained for... and that's before she comes across a frozen dead body!
Now, she's on the trail of a murderer, with four nosy old ladies giving her a helping hand, while also dealing with her embarrassing mother, her workaholic boyfriend - and even a mouse invader at her tearoom!
With things heating up in the contest and so many suspects in the running, can Gemma catch the killer before the curtain falls?

All my favorite characters, along with a few new ones, play a part in the story. As always, there are many laugh out loud moments, as well as plenty of suspense. I enjoy the fact that pets generally play a part in the stories, and I found the pets' involvement in the talent show particularly entertaining.
H.Y. Hanna has a way of blending murder, mystery, humor, and just a little romance, that keeps me listening to the end.
The reader, Pearl Hewitt, makes listening a pleasure. She is able to give each character a unique voice, and jumps back and forth between accents effortlessly.
There were a couple of "adult situations" in this book that I didn't enjoy. Wikipedia gives this definition of cozy mysteries: "Cozy mysteries..... are a subgenre of crime fiction in which sex and violence are downplayed or treated humorously......" and this book does fall within those parameters.
That being said, while the book was well written, the mystery intriguing, and the characters enjoyable, this would not be my favorite of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

The murder was original and I don't think you will find that method of killing in another book. The characters were fun and had you laughing at all there antics. Just a really good story that you can play again.
Once again the narrator was excellent and really brings the characters to life.
