Resumen del Editor

As news reports of the horrific December 2004 tsunami in Asia reached the rest of the world, commentators were quick to seize upon the disaster as proof of either God’s power or God’s nonexistence, asking over and over, How could a good and loving God - if such exists - allow such suffering? In The Doors of the Sea, David Bentley Hart speaks at once to those skeptical of Christian faith and to those who use their Christian faith to rationalize senseless human suffering. He calls both to recognize in the worst catastrophes not the providential will of God but rather the ongoing struggle between the rebellious powers that enslave the world and the God who loves it wholly.

Absolutely Superb

This is a theological and philosophical meditation upon the tsunami which slammed and slashed through islands, property and , most significantly, human lives and faith. Erudite, rich in concepts, historical and literary perspectives and insight, this is well worth listening to and pondering.

Excelente

One of the best analysis how to council o held our words nature, evil and disfrace hit us. It is an understanding of the rebellion of Christianity again all those forces represented by death and failure, the meaning of the empty thumb, and the world to come, overcoming the mirror of perfection to embrace light, goodness and Grace.

Fantastic narration and content

This was one of my first audible experiences, and it was a very good one. I was worried the long passages in French and Latin (and non-English references to Hindu religion) would really interrupt the narrator, but he was capable in all the languages in addition to English.

As to Hart’a writing, this book was (and remains) the best Christian approach to the problem of evil I have ever read. Definitely worth a credit.

Hope in the midst of suffering

Hart brings clarity to the question of why there is evil and suffering in the world. He also powerfully shares how God’s love conquers all.

An interesting short audio book

Does a great job with how Christians should handle tragedy and mourning. I'm not sure why the author intentionally misrepresents Calvin but I do understand the difference in theology between reformed and Orthodox.
