One of the most influential works of this century, The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays is a crucial exposition of existentialist thought. Influenced by works such as Don Juan and the novels of Kafka, these essays begin with a meditation on suicide; the question of living or not living in a universe devoid of order or meaning.

With lyric eloquence, Albert Camus brilliantly posits a way out of despair, reaffirming the value of personal existence and the possibility of life lived with dignity and authenticity.

The bit on absurdism was revealing and I adored the travelogues. I need to read more Camus.

Magical essays

The performance was well done, but is far too complicated for me to really enjoy on the first read.
The author provides many thought-provoking ideas, but the 20th century way of speaking makes it quite the hurdle for me to understand.
Overall, I'd suggest to those looking for an in-depth look at suicide and numerous philosophers such as Kierkegaard and Nietzche. Definitely NOT a quick read, at least for me.

Very detailed, but complicated

truthfully, I did not fully understand this book. Yet somehow, I know that within it's pages is something that has immense value and eternal beauty.
Top notch narrator. would recommend.

Truly smart and thoughtful

while this book is incredibly well written it is not very digestible for the average listener. It's flowery language and expansive vocabulary can often be confusing if you're not paying the upmost attention to the speaker. This is likely a much better listen/read if you own the physical copy and can follow along. Outside of that, it was insightful and opened up many avenues for new reads through it's frequent mention of the texts that informed and inspired the book.

The philosophy and forced introspection
