Resumen del Editor

On a mission to rescue his runaway sister from the lure of flowery compliments and a useless lot of satin-clad scalawags disguised by their snooty titles, Ranulf MacLawry, Marquis of Glengask, has roared into British society like a storm across the Highlands. But he's about to find out that satin has its appeal, especially when it covers the curves of Miss Lady Charlotte Hanover-whose tongue is as sharp as her skin is soft...Lady Charlotte Hanover has had her fill of hot-headed men, having lost her fiancé in an utterly unnecessary duel. When did brawn ever triumph over brains? And yet there is something solid and appealing about the brash Highlander who's as dangerous in the ballroom as in battle. Sometimes bigger really is better . . .

Good Narrators make the best book!!

This is one of my favorite Highlander romances and I loved listening to it on audio. Anne Flosnik is great with the different voices(male, female young or old). She really brings out all of them and I feel makes it great. You have a big brogue highlander and a older sister helping his sister in London for a season. It was fun to see how they both came together and it makes you want to listen over and over.

Love Strong Women

This has a strong female lead and she gives this highlander a run for his money.

This review requires twenty words. But I di nay want to give away it's plot. So I'll just say, what a treat. A keeper.

Good but....

Good story. Ended quite abruptly. Narrator leaves me wanting more. Voice grating after a while. 5 more words remaining the end

A FUN 'OPPOSITES ATTRACT' TYPE H/R

I'm so shallow - anything with a big, braw, kilt wearing Highlander in it and I'm so tempted then couple that with Suzanne Enoch and Anne Flosnik and it's found it's way into my basket.

Laird Ranulf, who's the MacLawry's Clan Chief, is mad mad mad because his18 year old sister Rowena has run away to their long dead English Mother's relatives in London to have her dream of a London Season come true despite constantly being told no way no how. Ranulf has to go after her but he hates anything English so, by the time he gets to London, he's in no mood for social niceties but when he starts to dictate what should happen next he wasn't planning on Lady Charlotte. A 25 year old feisty Spinster stands up to him, shouts back at him and won't let him take Rowena back until she has had her London Season.

There's instant attraction, witty dialogue and banter, sexual chemistry but a lot of personality clashes as Charlotte tries to change Ranulf's hot temper and suggests using calm words instead of fists. He's so smitten that he changes his nature and location for her but is it enough? There's intrigue, sex, danger, another Clan's revenge, and some compelling characters. However, I didn't enjoy Ranulf having to change so much to fit into the stereotypical Regency English Society and the ending was too quick.

Worth a credit? It wasn't one of Ms. Enoch's best, the plot was unbelievable and there seemed to be more angst than romance between the H/H but hey, despite everything, it was still an enjoyable start to a new series - so YES creditworthy.

God get me through this book.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

If I finish this book I will amaze my own abilities of tolerance. I am a huge fan of Suzanne Enoch. However the narrator is so horrible that it's disturbing me to the point that I can't find the greatness of Ms. Enoch"s writing. I've never had a problem with any of Suzanne's books when I read them. It's the narrator ruining it for me.

Would you be willing to try another book from Suzanne Enoch? Why or why not?

I will always recommend Suzanne's books. I just don't recommend this narrator. She's destroying Suzanne's writing.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Oh where do I begin. There are a few sentences that state "in his deep Scottish brogue"
Please help me. This narrator doesn't know what a mild Scottish brogue is. Every single character sounds like a monotone, elderly person. I can't tell who's speaking. I'm so sorry to say but I beg Suzanne to never use Anne Flosnik again. I'm begging you.

Could you see The Devil Wears Kilts being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I reserve my comment until I make it through the narrator's bumbling of every single character's voice.

Great book Excellent narrator!!

Any additional comments?

This is an exciting beginning to what is sure to be an excellent series. I love any book by Susanne enoch and Anne Flosnik never disappoints so this was just a win all around for me.

Loved it!

Very well written, fast paced without all the stupid misunderstandings you see in other period romances. Very well developed characters that were likable!!!!

Enjoyable use of time

Setting: Scottish Highlands and London. Year not given, but the Regent was mentioned.
Genre: Regency romance
Narration: I put off buying this book for a long, long time because I just can't like Anne Flosnik. Her narration takes some of the enjoyment out of it for me. The vocal register between male and female characters is off. Her voice bothers me. She didn't do badly with the Scottish accent, but I've heard better. Oh well...
I enjoyed the premise of the book very much. Rowena, a Highland lass, runs away to London so she can have a Season. Big brother Ranulf comes after her, but subsequently agrees to stay two weeks.
Most of the conflict in the story involves Charlotte, the 25 year old "spinster", trying to explain how Ranulf should conduct himself while in London, and how resistant he is to behaving as she suggests. She speaks her mind, rather than kowtowing to him as members of his clan do. I like that it wasn't love at first sight, then a quick jump into bed early on. The relationship develops prior to sex. There are a couple of instances of somewhat well described sex, but nowhere near erotica. A secondary conflict is the tension between Ranulf and members of another clan, who are in Town at the same time. There's violence, but not too graphic.
Worth the credit? Yes, if you can stand the narration. Part of me wishes I'd just gotten it in paper or e-book form.
