Resumen del Editor

Don't miss book three in the #1 New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series, soon to be a major motion picture starring Dylan O'Brien!

WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends — the Gladers. But it's finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test.

What WICKED doesn't know is that Thomas remembers far more than they think. And it's enough to prove that he can't believe a word of what they say.

Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He'll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all.

The time for lies is over.

The first two books, The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials, are also #1 worldwide blockbuster movies featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster!

Also look for The Fever Code, the much-buzzed-about series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built, and James Dashner's other best-selling series, the Mortality Doctrine: The Eye of Minds, The Rule of Thoughts, and The Game of Lives.

Praise for James Dashner and the Maze Runner series:

like a TV series ending

I'll give the last 2 books a "eh" . kind of disappointed from such a interesting start. makes the middle book all but useless imo.

Death Cure?

Slightly miss leading is the title, but all and all I'll have to give this one a four-star.

While I enjoyed books one and two, I couldn't help but feel there was a bit missing from the plot of this one. For example: What did the Gladers learn from their past once they got the memories back? Why did Thomas fight so hard to get his, but in the end say no? Character development being his ultimate decision? Possibly, but I cant help but feel that fell short of what it could have been?

All the same, performances as great and the storyline was enjoyable. I can't complain that it was time well spent.

Dark and not very satisfying

I will warn before I get into any spoilers. But man, this book just did not do it for me. Also, the narrator was very good, fantastic performance!
If you have ever read Harry Potter, then you know what a satisfying ending looks like.
(Spoilers)
While I thought that series was pretty harsh in terms of unnecessary deaths, it pales in comparison to this series-ending novel. Turns out that basically all the bull the characters have to put up with was all for naught. And characters needlessly die because Thomas is kind of a bonehead.
(Major Spoilers)
There is no cure and never will be and it is never satisfyingly explained exactly how these “variables” were supposed to help them figure out a cure.
I would have liked to see some resolution whereby Teresa makes amends with Thomas. They know they will never be the same but at least they can still take comfort in knowing that each is well and alive. But nope, she gets flattened by debris cause Thomas is too distracted by his rage and she has to kill herself to save him cause he stands gawking at a collapsing ceiling like that one kid from the original spider man movie (at the parade). Bren is a fine character, not sure if Jorge made it through (if he died I missed it but he doesnt make an appearance near the end)

Good, could have been great

I hoped for a more meaningful resolution to WICKED and development of the Ava Paige character. These did not happen and left the finish thin and somewhat unsatisfying. Yhe performance was excellent until near end, when MinHo and Gali had some hispanic accents mixed into their voices.

A Barely Standing End to an Outstanding Trilogy

If you could sum up The Death Cure in three words, what would they be?

Um.. Probably your average third book. I mean it wasn't a book that was so bad that I couldn't finish it, but it is so disappointing to me to have such an amazing author write such a frankly average book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The thing is, this book seemed anti-climax. It just pulls itself out, and when it ended I started to wonder if something happened because I thought that James Dasher would pull through with a surprisingly amazing ending. It just... faded out.

What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mark Deakins really gave the characters a voice that a printed book could. I would totally listen to another one of his... Things? Performances? Anyways he did a great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Lots of it would have, but I just never really got enough into it to continue on my emotional connection to the character. I read the first two books, and started to love all the characters, especially in The Scorch Trials.

Any additional comments?

James Dasher is a amazing author, and I have read almost all his books, but this book seemed like he just wanted this trilogy to end already. At least I was ok with it all ending. I'm not saying it is a bad book, but I had to force myself to finish it. Maybe just ask a friend who has read it how it ends.

Dissapointing

Would you consider the audio edition of The Death Cure to be better than the print version?

The Narration was wonderful, I was just disappointed with the book.

Would you recommend The Death Cure to your friends? Why or why not?

I am very torn. I like the idea behind the series and the characters, but I was disappointed with some of the writing and I felt that several aspects were either pointless or unexplained by the end.

What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings life and feeling. He has a great tone.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Newt. I don't want to spoil anything ;)

Any additional comments?

I recommend finishing the series if you have started it, but don't take the Death Cure Title to heart, or you will will be disappointed.

Enjoyable and fun

Nice conclusion to the series. I found it as enjoyable as the previous two books. On to the final book now!

Better than #2, not as good as #1

First book was great, second mediocre. This was better than second book but drawn out and overly sad. The sadness was very trying.
