The Curse of Mystic Lakes

This was a very well written ghost story. Teens from the opposite side of the tracks drown after being abused by friends and family. Now there are spirits and weird happenings.Other deaths have occured. I was hoping to be scared,I wasn't. John Flaherty was a very good narrator. I was given this book free for an honest review.

Fantastic

I listened to the audible version and all I can say is Wow! I have listened to multiple audiobooks from this author this week. The writing style is impressive. Each one different & each one brilliant.
This one was very interesting. Once I started the story it sucked me right in. A story about choices, consequences, desire & Lies. It starts out with a young girl finally getting asked to a party by a boy she secretly likes. In return he likes her as she well but when they show up things take a turn for the worst. A couple of snobby spoiled girls start trouble because they don't approve of the young mans date. The boys father ends up at the party and seems to want to hurt her & his son. They end up jumping in the lake and drowning. After that of course the 2 families both point fingers at each other. The girls that started the trouble develop sudden health issues we will say and things go haywire. Clarissa is drawn to a website promising spells to help her with her desires which she is desperate to correct. She didn't care what the cost was. This action causes a chain of events. Clarissa will overcome her health issues and carry on but she will forever live with the consequences of her choices whether she knows it or not. She meets a boy and they fall in love. They marry and even have a baby. A beautiful little girl or so her mother thinks. As time passes her debt resurfaces and when it does, Clarissa will finally see the truth.

A battle of good versus evil

A supernatural thriller on the darker side. Love all the details McFarland gives his characters and all the detailed description of the stories settings.

Supernatural and Vengeance twisted together!

I enjoyed this book. it was a great mix of Supernatural Entities mixed with Vengeance. I was impressed with how the Author mixed your feelings between Anger, Fun and even some Humorous angles. Narration was very good. Enjoyable but some occasional Explicit tones.

Horrifically Beautiful!

This is a well-narrated and immersing story with unexpected heroes, victims, and villains and twists at every turn. There are parts that had me laughing and others that had me terrified. The incorporation of many different mystical beliefs and rituals was fascinating and kept the story flowing and captivating until the very end. Another Riano D. McFarland gem that is surprising in its depth and compelling in its delivery by John Flaherty! Excellent audiobook!

Truly a great short story. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book as a fan of the supernatural.

Intriguing Story

This story revolves around Mystic Lake area where an unusual amount of drowning have occurred. You have some of the wealthy people of the area making things go their way and the average people of the area just trying to live and enjoy their lives.
Narrator does a very good job with the various characters and the Entire Storyline.
Good supernatural type mystery story.

Supernatural Karma

The Curse of the Mystic Lakes was an absolutely phenomenal book that dealt with magic, deities, greed, narcissism, and above all else karma. I was hooked from the first chapter. The characters and storyline are well developed and researched. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I will say this you will not be disappointed in this book. In my opinion, this book is a MUST READ/LISTEN to anyone who loves books about supernatural deities. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.

Intense story

This book has a very interesting plot. It was so diversely written and the narrator did a great job. This storyline was awesome.

Horror

Great horror book. Definitely gets you thinking and into the book. The storyline is very good, the narrator does an amazing job. The mystery part of this book does really catch your attention. Overall 5 stars
